The straw that broke the camel’s back: Florida must fire Mike White and save its basketball program

Good article detailing the failures of Mike White. After reading this and seeing all the chatter on twitter, I think White is as good as gone regardless of the buyout. Its been time to move on for awhile now.

To echo what others say, Mike White teams look like guys that have just met and are playing pick-up ball at Hume. I never get the impression they practice together.

Not going to happen. Look how they celebrated his 100th win. It was this huge ordeal. They are trying to hold on to him. Trying to kick the can a little longer. They know the buyout is too big and stricklin will look silly for extending him.

Good article, but the author really did not need to take up all that time with his analysis. All you need to do is watch Mike's teams in games and read a few of the poster's analysis for the better part of 2+ years and you would come to the same conclusion. Most of our eyeballs saw the exact same thing that the author's 2 million word article saw. But nonetheless, as usual better late than never. Sadly he just is part of the 99.9% of reactionary people out there. Need Pro-Activity which is not something people excel at.

Fold so quick. I'm serious, Im getting rid of my season tickets and going for the lodge seating at the gymnastics meets.

Man, that's just a damning article right there. Pure, unbiased facts.

White has to go if the Gator Standard means anything and it obviously does because we invest significant efforts and energy in making sure we're competitive in as many sports as possible.

Basketball is different than football, good players come and go quickly so current roster talent is fleeting. Guys like Scottie Lewis will declare for the draft and others will transfer

If the coach needs to go he needs to go. The roster can be depleted or replenished quickly

It’s all about the coach in college basketball

Did you see all the empty seats last night? It's gonna happen and Strickland should be on the hot seat for giving him that extension to begin with.

This article captures everything that many of us have been saying for awhile now

No matter how you slice it, the program is in obvious decline and there is no realistic reason to believe it will change

At this point, anyone that defends CMW is either reliant on the program for their livelihood or they know absolutely nothing about college basketball and that includes the disingenuous talking heads like Jay Bilas and that slurping Vitale

I've been lurking from the baseline so far this year, hoping this team could get it together. It looked like we might be getting there: we beat #4 Barn, played LSU close at their court, almost getting to OT, and really only played about 10 minutes of bad CMW basketball vs. Baylor, which cost us the game. I did not watch last night, but checked on the score at the half and was pleased to see us up by 10; then checked back later and saw that we **** the bed, again. Thanks CMW!
I just got on YouTube and saw the highlights for the MSU game are up - 9 full minutes and I don't want to (not going to) watch.
Makes me sick to my stomach. :gah:
