All in all, these kids should be regaling each other over big win after big win. Instead, aren't they acting disconnected about the workings of this basketball team -- suppose to be their team. Who is separating these kids from their own team? -- scattered individual talents? baffling?
Basketball should very well be the central-essence of their lives. Oddly, Mike White isn't centered on basketball. Instead of courtside, Mike White should be in administration, paper shuffling, quietly. Stricklin needs to put a thinking-cap on and make a brilliant choice. White is badly damaging UF's brand. He won't be able to fool anymore talented high school stars. UF is on the precipice of dropping to the basement of the SEC.??

Your comment about future recruiting dispels yet another CMW excuse “You can’t fire him he has recruited so well “.
Not anymore given how the current crop has been mismanaged no five star will darken the doorway in the future

No program should ever make a coaching decision either way ( hire or fire) based solely on recruiting because it is so shortsighted

Wow! The buyout impact of this extension is crushing. We really weren't in bad shape with the original contract, but now with the buyout, it will be very costly. They will be much more hesitant given those terms. What a horrible decision that appears to be now.

UF AD's making poor decisions? First I have ever heard of that :scratchhead:

it’s at least $3.5 million more since he gave a two year extension and someone posted that the buyout was $1.75 per year remaining on the contract.

edit: if TnS is right, then it increased the buyout by $750k X 3 seasons plus the $3.5 M from the two extra years. So, he increased the buyout $5.25 million.
I always wonder about the accountability side of this. Dude just ensured we have another year of this BS because he extended the coach and upped the buyout significantly. Who holds these guys accountable? Boosters? Surely they can not be happy with how their money was spent on this decision.

I contracted for those guys before. Enjoyed my experience. Never been part of their organization, wouldn’t know their culture. Certainly never cheered for their football team.

Yes but I can cheer for LSU BUT NEVER against the Gators..wore Orange & Blue in the Student Section at Tiger Stadium in Grad School.

Thinking the same thing. Then again, we would never hire a AD if that was the threat
Im pretty sure that the ADs at 110-120 other Div 1 schools don't want to hear how tuff it is at the University Florida, being the home team on most of the top football talent and with a top 10 budget.

Honestly, you have to be a complete failure to fvkk it up here.

So basically it went from fairly insignificant to nearly prohibitory. So why is Strickland more or less getting a pass? This is a royal fukup that could set the program back a few years.

Just take it out of the football facilities budget. Every other sport does.

UF's AD is Stricklin ... not Strickland .... unless the misspelling is a part of the ridicule?
When these extensions with raises pop up, are they initiated by the Coach's agent or what? The appearance of these packets fills me with the suspicion that the coach's agent realizes that his coach-client may be about to falter? The agent is privy to a much closer personal knowledge of White's mental structure ... like headed for a failure in his confidence? doubting his ability unto the point of dropping in coaching effectiveness? With that oncoming diminishment, the agent seeks a nest-egg for his client.? The buyout is (a) to discourage the firing when firing is what is needed, (b) to assuage the worries of a coach who thinks he can't cut it? (c) to provide his coach-client with the legally-locked financial situation of "rewards undeserved". The buyout is a set up expressly to reward failure. Certain coaches in certain situations lose their "edge" because of this safety net favoring White but disfavoring the University of Florida.??

I'd like to hear AD Stricklin tell us how the idea for the raise & increased buyout was put into play? As we now see in stark clarity, this buyout harms our University. Why promote the harming of UF = Stricklin's employer. The coaching results we are getting are "as if" White does not care. This process would be more rational & truth-based if White was told: "No raise, no extension because you need to do well enough with these stars that warrant such a monetary boost." ??

Has there been a petition or gofundme started to get White and Stricklin fired? Is that the way we really get this ball rolling? Do we pay off the players to lose all the games to ensure something is done? What about a petition to get Grantham gone to?

Unfortunately we have to keep Stricklin because no other decent AD will take the job as long as Fooley is allowed to hover around causing problems
We missed out on our first 2-3 choices before Stricklin because of our reluctance to drag the bum out of the building

If the clowns can find 20 million to buyout Willie, UF can find the 8 million to buy out White.
