Genuine question: what was the big QB recruiting difference? He pulled Tebow and Newton here and they were/are still using athletic freaks that can run up the middle.

Not arguing about a change in scheme - just looking for clarification on QB recruiting specifically.

I remember when NSD was edge-of-your-seat drama that hope for future greatness hung on. Now with ESD and the portal it's more like a visit to a woman's club coffee klatch

He still used the athletic quarterback, but difference is in what emphasized in the scheme. Different types of recievers and backs.

He's probably talking about Ohio State, where he brought in a new staff and tweaked the offense. His QBs at Ohio State weren't full fledged battering rams and he had NFL sized RBs.

The wife of the staffer he gave the commit to works for me. It's how I also know we never sent paperwork to Beckwith or Clayton, and how I know Van Pran is sticking with the dwags.

I appreciate any potential insight, as long as it is not just a grandstanding post to get attention, rather, just to pass along any information to fellow Gators. Gracias.

Right... That’s why I said I was specifically asking about QB. He and I have had discussions on the scheme and agree it changed significantly. First time I have heard him refer to a QB recruiting difference.

See response to Doug. I’m curious about his QB recruiting comment. Those QBs looked no different to me. They were used differently but I have little doubt he could have had them batter away need be.

I would say more accomplished passers, that were athletes instead of the other way around. Guys that were not throwing fullbacks.

edit: guys with more tradition throwing motions and rhythm... Tebow, Smith, and Newton were all outside the tradition passing mold guys, who would make a lot of plays "off-Schedule".

Unless there's a change of heart before he signs his LOI, Princely is a Gator. He facetimed one of the recruiting support at about 9:00 this morning to give the news.
Having to wait until 320p for this --- not awesome.
