Good class is overstated. Average class (for UF). Less than Chimp, better than Shark.

A little bit good? (4 top 100 players vs 6 for Chimp and 12 for Meyer.). Good enough for second to third place?

A good bit better than nothing?

If you're only going by ratings. However let's also remember a few things about chimps class. They were always unbalanced and most of his evals were off.

I can list a number of busts by Champ including missing evals on guys like Derrick Henry who Chimp thought projected as a LB.

We’ll never know if his eval was off. Some people think Henry could be a HOF LB. I don’t recall Chump saying he couldn’t be a good RB, just that he really liked him as a LB

Understand this has to be why they immediately got Brewster, but letting the Vols beat you in recruiting, in a season where they lost to Georgia State, at home, is embarrassing. Incredible amount of denial to say that a top 10 means a lot here when UT edges you after last season. Incredible.

They didn't beat us by much. We had four guys 5.9 or better, they only had five. Like us, their class is a heap of 5.8 low 4*/ borderline 3* players.

None of the elite teams in the SEC are afraid of either class.

Similar to a kid that chooses the Eagles over the other 30 teams in the league (Redskins don't count, fck the Redskins).

Ha. I was actually just looking for the Eagles facing Cowboys helmets in 21 last night. Was going to post it in the pics thread for you. Unfortunately, they don’t have them hanging anymore.

Agree - It shouldn't have even been close between our two programs, that's what I am saying.

Anybody waving a Top 10 recruiting banner for UF like it was a step in the right direction has to stop and look at the Vols fan next to them waving a better one and evaluate why our class wasn't better or why we didn't take a bigger step if UT was able to do this on the back of their season. Yes, we got good dudes and it was better balanced than a Butters class, but UT did the same and did better, even if only slightly and they weren't even close to the positive publicity, record, momentum and recruiting backyard than Florida had.

Dan put on a happy face and said all the protective things after NSD, but there was a reason he snapped up Brewster - the harvest from such a positive couple of rebound seasons was not even as good as the harvest from a barely .500, losing at home to Georgia State Tennessee program. Underlines what a missed opportunity this cycle was.

do you think we should have recruited the state of Tennessee harder? They got 2 guys from Florida, and we didnt seem to push hard for either one.

Muschamp star chased. Let me list you a number of "highly rated" recruits that either never played a down here, removed from team or transferred, or never amounted to much.

2011:

A.C. Leonard - 2nd Highest Rated Recruit - Had discipline problems, transferred to Tenn St
Mike Blakely - 3rd Highest Rated Recruit - Transferred to Auburn then Kansas Comm College
Ja'Juan Story - 7th Highest Rated Recruit - Ended up at TCU
Javares McRoy - 8th Highest Rated Recruit - Ended up at Texas Tech
Valdez Showers - 9th Highest Rated Recruit - Bust
Graham Stewart - 11th Highest Rated Recruit - Ended up at UCONN

Rest of the class included Trip Thurman, De'Ante Sanders, Clay Burton, Chris Johnson, Hunter Joyer, Tommy Jordan, Kyle Christy, Tevin Westbrook.

2012:

Jessamen Dunker - 5th Highest Rated Recruit - Had discipline problems, transferred to Tenn St
Kent Taylor - 6th Highest Rated Recruit - Ended up at KU, UTEP
Colin Thompson - 8th Highest Rated Recruit - Ended Up at Temple
Jeremi Powell - 10th Highest Rated Recruit - Ended up at Toledo
Rhaheim Ledbetter - 11th Highest Rated Recruit - Ended Up at Southern Jaguars

Rest of the class included Raph Andrades, Austin Hardin, Skyler Mornhinweg, Willie Bailey, Bryan Cox Jr, Alex McCalister, Jafar Mann, Quinteze Williams, Damien Jacobs, and Latroy Pittman.

2013:

Daniel McMillian - 4th Highest Rated Recruit - Bust
Ahmad Fulwood - 7th Highest Rated Recruit - Bust
Matt Rolin - 10th Highest Rated Recruit - Bust
Alvin Bailey - 11th Highest Rated Recruit - Bust
Nick Washington - 12th Highest Rated Recruit - Bust
Adam Lane - 15th Highest Rated Recruit - Bust

Rest of Class: Trevon Young, Octavius Jackson, Max Staver, Johnny Townsend, Chris Thompson, Cameron Dillard, Marqui Hawkins, Roderick Johnson, Antonio Riles.

2014:

Gerald Willis - 2nd Highest Rated Recruit - Ended up at Miami
Thomas Holley - 4th Highest Rated Recruit - Chronic Injury - Career Ended
Treon Harris - 5th Highest Rated Recruit - Transferred
J.C. Jackson - 7th Highest Rated Recruit - Had discipline problems, transferred to Maryland
Khairi Clark - 8th Highest Rated Recruit - Bust

Rest of Class Included - Brandon Powell, Moral Stephens, CJ Worton, Ryan Sousa, DeAndre Goolsby, Andrew Mike, Travaris Dorsey, Justus Reed, C'yontai Lewis, Deiondre Porter, Drew Sarvary....

So basically out of all of Muschamps players, sorting the NFL from the busts/transfers, Muschamp had a total of 12 of our highest ranked players either leave the program or be a bust. I'd say his evals sucked.

We’ve discussed it. The lack of facilities doesn’t help matters. But neither does having recruiters who are about as effective as a semi retarded camel. Just a bad combo right now. But what can be immediately fixed should be.

Exactly.

We have a poor recruiting HC with poor recruiting assistants (at least 5) with a tiny 3 man recruiting staff and shytty facilities.

Honestly, we are lucky to be where we are.

We can fix a few of those things quickly.

The one thing you have to admit though is that each hire has been an upgrade which is a good thing. If he would just cut the dead weight of the others, we would continue building a better staff

Oh trust me, Meyers class is full of them as well. Im just saying Chimps class were a disorganized and poorly evaluated mess.
Someone just posted the stats. About 50% of 5 stars fail, but 75% of 4 stars do, and 95% of 3 stars do. Stars matter. You can't always get lucky rolling the dice.

Wake me up when Mullinz resume includes something other than "sometimes doesn't lose to Kintucky".

If he gets fired in 21 after his fourth loss to Ugly, this roster isn't going to attract the top replacements.

Why don't you just go root for your boys in Tallacrappy? At this point youre just a Nole Donkey troll. You continue to hang your hat on one loss to Kentucky and refuse to acknowledge back to back NY6 appearances. Compared to where we were, you of all people should be happy. Can it get better? Yes. Will it get better? Hopefully depending on continued uptick in recruiting and getting better staff for that role. You're one of the most insufferable posters on this board. You went from actually rooting for our team and having proper dialogue to literally rooting for us to lose so that you can say you're right.

No, Im not at all impressed by managing to beat the trash in the SEC east and getting lucky enough to have wiLLLLLLie at Clown Town.

It isn't the slightest bit impressive, just as it wasn't impressive when Sharkfvkker beat the SEC East trash too.

It isn't even slightly impressive. Losing 7 of the last 8 quarters to UK isn't something to acknowledge.

CLEAR?
