Matt Jones had a solid, but short, stint with the skins. Injury plagued I think.

He also couldn't hold onto the ball. I think he lasted three season, two w/ the Skins.

Just googled it, he made $2.2 million in three active seasons (mostly from the signing bonus from being the 95th player selected, 4th round pick).

Ivey and CeCe, 5 star flops.
Cece doesn’t surprise me but Ivey did. Hard to believe he wasted his talent so spectacularly.

If you’re talking about making it to the NFL, for sure. But they were both really good players here.

CeCe is a bit of a Tweener. I could never see him as an impact player in the NFL. But to your point, Ivey is a mystery. How he could not dominate with all of his measurables is a mystery. Maybe it was development. He basically should’ve been a guard here his entire time.

Anyone going to an XFL game this weekend? The DC team opens in DC this weekend, but I'm out of town. Gonna try to get to the game next Sunday (if the weather isn't sh*t).

I really hope the xfl fails. If it hits, 5-4 star recruits will have to decide:

1) do I go to college, live in a dorm, have to study, and not get paid.

2) go to XFL, where I can make $100k+

I’d choose 2.

the xfl could ruin college football.

Lots of Gators on the Tampa team:

Former Florida WR Antonio Callaway joins XFL team

Former Florida WR Antonio Callaway joins XFL team

Former Florida Gators wide receiver Antonio Callaway will be getting another chance in professional football, but not in the NFL.

On Thursday evening, the XFL’s Tampa Bay Vipers announced that they had claimed Callway off of waivers for the upcoming season, which is set to begin in February. This could represent a fresh start for Callaway after enduring off-field issues at the NFL level.

Callaway was with the Cleveland Browns as recently as the 2019 season, but he was waived from the team on Nov. 14 because he wasn’t showing up on time to meetings or practices. Even if the Browns hadn’t waived Callaway, he still was looking at a 10-game suspension for his use of a “tainted CBD product.”

The former Browns wideout missed the start of the 2019 season because he was serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. At the time, Callaway shouldered the blame for his actions and stated that he’d like to earn back the trust that he’d lost.

"I take full responsibility for my actions," Callaway said in a press release back in September. "I made a mistake and I own that. I have taken steps to make myself better and I appreciate the Browns standing by me and supporting me during this time. I know there's nothing I can say to regain trust; it will all be about my actions."

Callaway has struggled with off-field issues throughout his career, dating back to his time at Florida. While with the Gators, Callaway missed the entire 2017 season due to an identity and credit card fraud scandal. During the NFL Combine, Callaway produced a diluted drug test. That’s why, despite his incredible ability, Callaway fell to the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Callaway was a four-star recruit and the No. 43 wide receiver in the 2015 signing class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Callaway played two full seasons at Florida, and he caught 89 passes for 1,399 yards and seven touchdowns in his collegiate career. Callaway was also a fantastic weapon in the special teams game as he returned two kicks and one punt for a touchdown at the college level.

After getting several chances with the Browns, Callaway now has an opportunity to revitalize his career with the Vipers in the XFL. He’ll have former Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray throwing to him, and he’ll be playing alongside former Florida teammates Mack Brown, Martez Ivey, DeAndre Goolsby, and Cece Jefferson.

The Vipers kick off their inaugural season on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 2:00 p.m. ET with a game against the New York Guardians.
Ivey? He went from 5* to the XFL?

I watched most of the DC vs. Seattle game. As someone who did watch the first XFL, I see some important changes.

1. The level of football is better. It will never be at the level of the nfl. But, I remember how utterly unwatchable the OG XFL was because the put the teams together and threw them out on the field with little practice time.

2. The marketing hasn't been as cartoonish. The first xfl sold itself as a WWE version of football. Plus, they didn't try to go head to head against the nfl.

3. This goes back to point one. But, I see a difference in the level of talent. There are guys that were in the nfl in this league. The original xfl had a lot of street free agent types. It showed.

Now, they need some stars to step up in order to attract attention.

Real disappointed that Miami didn't get an XFL team, and surprised we didn't. There's a huge appetite for a winning football team in this city, and they could've played for sellout crowds at FIU's very nice little 20,000-seat stadium, which is the right capacity for a fledgling league like this.
Miami is simply not a football city.

The TB Viper jersey's are HIDEOUS and they play like it too. No surprise with Aaron Murray as their QB.

The biggest problem with the xfl so far after watching a second game are the QBs. It isn't a surprise. If you can't read a defense in the nfl, you won't suddenly be able to in the xfl. Even worse, 3 of the 4 QBs I have watched simply lack the physical ability to even compete at the xfl's level.

We caught the first half of the DC game at a brewery yesterday. Half the passes landed short of the intended target. The level of play was laughably bad.

The QBs have been bad. The level of play and talent is far better this time around. Cardale Jones is the only QB I have seen that has an nfl arm. The rest are out of the league because of noodle arms. From top to bottom, the original xfl was a joke. This xfl has some talent. But, if they want the league to survive, the QBs need to step it up. The current ones like Aaron Murray don’t have the physical ability to play in this league. He could’ve in the original xfl.
