Good story. His brother is an assistant coach at Venice HS. I wonder if he's donated to that program.

I have co-worker who's son is a HS senior and a RB prospect, he was being recruited by a lot of 1AA schools but they backed off after his senior year. He just visited Ursinus College and the staff there brags about Mullen being an alum and how much he's given back to the program. Thought that was interesting, and pretty nice that Mullen hasn't forgotten where he came from. Mullen was the guest speaker at the school's 2017 commencement.

Way to go Trey!

Someone should forward this article to Emmitt Smith

Many great Gators like Kevin Carter have been very generous over the years but I have never heard a peep about the great one ever supporting the school he supposedly loves so much

I agree, surely someone like Emmit can throw 500-1 mill to the football facility. How cool would that be if he gave to get some naming rights. Instead of the Lemerand Complex recruits would see the Emmit Smith Football Facility.

I'm never comfortable telling another man (or woman other than Mrs. G.) how he should spend his money. So rather than criticize the guy who doesn't contribute, I like to focus on the ones (some of whom you all mentioned) who are paying back to their school.

I fondly remember Trey Burton's performance his freshman year against UK when he scored six TDs. I remember thinking he was going to be an amazing player for us. I was wrong of course, as he only scored 13 more touchdowns for the rest of his career, but for that night he was awesome; all five of his carries were for TDs.

Don't think he was used properly. I think CDM might have used him well.

I'm certainly not telling him what to do with his money, he earned it and if he wants to give it all to FSU then great. However, that doesn't mean I cant opine about why or why not or express my opinion. That's the problem today, everyone is so sensitive to criticism.

I’m not sensitive. I’m just saying I’m not comfortable; you do as you wish.

Bad timing for him. But two of his best TD runs were huge game changers against uga in 2010 and the vols in 2012.

I believe he has a Super Bowl ring as well.
