I'm not sure if it's possible to improve one's running speed, but I imagine it is quite possible to improve one's initial burst getting to max speed. Perhaps Trask will work on that in the off season and make himself a viable threat to take off and run more often when an opening presents itself.
For starters, we need to lose that bizarre RPO fake to no one on those option plays. Not only does it fool no one, it slows the progression of the play, which is the last thing we need to be doing with Trask(or the option in general).
Once he’s in the clear his speed isn’t exactly a strength, but also isn’t horrible. It’s his first 5-6 steps that seem like he’s in concrete shoes. If not for being tackled on that 4th down call against Lsu, I’m still not sure he’s reached the edge yet.
