I always heard Kansas was sure that Billy cheated to get Mike. Entitled Jayhawks. If Mich St had not been such a great veteran team we win that title, too.

Mateen Cleaves had a huge game for them.

You are right about Kansas
Roy Williams was the coach then and he cried to his daddy, Dean Smith and Dean sent all of his minions out to accuse Billy of cheating
The NCAA investigated and found no wrongdoing.

It took some of Deans disciples years to admit that they were wrong after ripping him to everyone for several years

One of the MANY reasons why I hate UNC

Remember we would go on to beat UNC in the Final 4 pretty easily in that 2000 season.

The hypocrisy is suffocating. UNC and Kansas were just concerned UF was joining them at their game. Fortunately, so far UF hasn’t emerged as the same level of scum bag cheating programs as those ****s. Roy Williams deserves a miserable retirement in jail.

If Mike White does get shown the door, I would hope Stricklin gives Miller a look.

Miller said himself that him going to Florida and Donovan and staff being there turned Florida into a Top 5 Basketball program in the country.

Then, there's Mike White. Driving the program that Billy built into the ground.

Might as well. Instant name recognition and would get recruits. I imagine his X's and O's are better than White. Miller could bring Billy ball back, and I'm sure he'd love to come back home and restore the magic on Billy D court. Still, the jury is out.

I agree that the jury is still out on Miller as well as the recent trend to hire recent NBA players with no college experience (Juan Howard/Michigan, Penny Hardaway/Memphis, Jerry Stackhouse/Vandy) but I find the trend intriguing and hope they are successful since UF certainly has plenty of former players that would fit the mold (Horford, Miller, Nelson, et al) which would give us flexibility over the long haul.

I think Howard will be OK, but he's the only one. I was puzzled by the Stackhouse hire. I get why Memphis hired Hardaway, but he was a HS coach! Miller needs more time in my opinion.

I think Pat Young would be a good assistant coach. Billy D said he was one of the smartest players he ever coached. He would be great to coach D like a Larry Shyatt.

If you look closely at the AD Vandy just fired, you will understand why Stackhouse was hired.......
