they'd be better off with FAU

Probably so. Or maybe they A) make a run at and try to poach a program in the Northeast that’s currently B10 or Big East (Rutgers, Penn St. or UConn) or B) if they want to keep a Florida footprint, UCF. Pure conjecture (and maybe fantasy) on my part but I just don’t see what scUM brings to the table and I’m confident others see the same thing.

And people wonder why some of these highly ranked kids choose schools like FSU and Miami...Even UGA is easier to get into...my cousin is half retarded and got into Alabama

The ACCN's struggles are a very good thing. The clowns needed that ACCN money to get in the black. That is probably out the window with it bombing so poorly. They thought they could demand what the SEC and BIG10 did. Comcast laughed at them and walked away.

I don’t know you’d have to check the Bama message boards...but man...what a way to get my self confidence going today...is that an indictment on my consumption?

I wonder if the ACC has or is considering booting Miami from the conference? The team sucks, the school is a small, private college that isn’t great from an academic reputation standpoint and the rest of their athletic programs are meh. To boot, the fans are fair weather so they’re non-existent now and have been for years. On top of all this, if they can’t get TV eyeballs due to no agreement in S. Fla for the network, what’s the point of keeping them in the conference?

GatorinGeorgia, I gotta stand up for my university. Some things you got right in that we are a very small private college and the team, at least thru this past season, sucked. It was just a few years ago UF's football program was down, now it is FSU & Miami down. After Bear Bryant @ Ala, they were down a number of years till St.Nick showed up; no one paid any attention to Clemson, now they are a powerhouse; LSU was a total powerhouse in the late 50's/early 60's, then were down a few years and now back up; thus things seem to go in cycles

The thing you got wrong, however, was academics. Miami and UF are equal academically (they both particularly have stellar medical and law schools) and it is FSU who is not too great academically. Just had to let you know we are not dummies, but we just can't play football too good right now.

Daytonacane, US news ranks Miami at 57 and they rank Florida at 34. Their stats also show Miami is about twice the cost of UF. Hardly equal as you claim. Not to say Miami doesn’t have a good law school or a good medical school, they very well may. But that’s not undergrad, which is what I was referring to. Obviously most every college will have at least one or two things they are good at in some capacity across their undergrad and /or graduate programs.

Sometimes I guess it depends upon which data you look at. I had looked @ Niche which listed both UF & Miami A+ with UF SAT range 1250 - 1400 and Miami 1230 - 1420....FSU was 1190 - 1330. To put perspective on the SAT's, MIT's SAT range was 1490 - 1570.

@daytonacane forgot to say that I hope you are fully recovered from your surgery and feeling well.
take care.
GIG

Thanks for your kind post. I am feeling exceptionally well. Amazing part of the entire minimally invasive open heart procedure was the fact that I never had any pain whatsoever & never even took an aspirin. Kudos to Dr. Joseph Lamelas for keeping me the upside of the grass.
