Ray Mac had a long pro career. We have very few people on this roster that would even get recruited by Zook or Meyer. Youre deluding yourself if you think otherwise.

Agreed, but no superstars. Meyer made them better to a man, but you had the previously inconsistent RayMac, finally effective ex-RB Joe Cohen, chronically injured Jarvis Moss, 2* Steven Harris...

But you also have to remember I believe at one point all 7 guys were on NFL rosters, so it wasn't like we didn't have talent there.

Absolutely. I’m just thinking about how they excelled as a championship team without the superstars. Lots of close games, veteran contributors, individuals like Harris who really drastically improved and validated Zook’s reach in signing him.

There is a lot to be said for recruiting elite superstars as key ingredients to championships. 2006 strikes me as an exception to that general rule.

Looking at 2020, we don’t have a lot of elite superstar talent - Pitts, maybe Grimes, maybe Copeland on offense? Defense: Dexter? Wingo? Diabate? If so, our shot will depend on team toughness, efficiency, and guys maximizing themselves.

The games were close because we ran a fvkktarded offense and had no idea what the forward pass was or how to use an elite passer, except vs Crackumbus State.

The 2006 Gators were #19 in total offense, 2nd in the SEC, 28th in passing offense and 3rd in the SEC (a whopping 14 yards less than SOS at SC), 38th in rushing offense and 2nd in the SEC.

In 2000 the Gators were 20th in total offense. Whose offense was that?

In 2006 Chris Leak was statistically on par with his sophomore year in Fedora’s passing offense . YPA was slightly higher. “Elite passer”?

And yet, we struggled to score 20 points in most SEC games.

And the question isn't why we were 19th or whatever, it is why Ron Zook had the #1 offense in the SEC and our fvkktard had no clue how to use talent, other than teaching the WRs how to block on the option and neverending screen game.

Don't give me stat bullshyt.

He is the same garbage ass OC he's always been.

Plays, they ran 55%; yards 236 passing ypg, 160 rushing.

That’s really my point. The 2006 team wasn’t dazzling or loaded with stars, but won on grit, toughness, team, determination, execution etc. We didn’t “pass the eye test” but we just kept winning. (Tebow & Percy adding significant spice to the clunky offense. I was surprised it came in at 19th.)

Then Meyer/Mullen broke every tendency and shuffled formations & personnel to completely befuddle OSU’s defense. And our defense knew exactly what they were running every play.

Then in 2008 there were stars everywhere. Different dynamic.

2020’s potential is more like 2006 because we don’t as yet see transcendent stars.

You seem locked in on 2005 (which was still 24th.)

Forget the stats and look at the SEC & NC trophies.

In 2007 the same OC clocked in with the #3 offense and an unprecedented, historic Heisman for his sophomore QB. 2008: #4 with another NC.

Which brings us back to recruiting...and our need to get elite players.

2020 UF is more like 2006 Kintucky.

On 2006 UF, there was a 5 star QB national player of the year and all time best Gator QB passer.

Several 4-5 star RBs, Wynn lasted in the NFL form few a years, almost all the WRs did too. Hell most of the defense did.

You are absolutely smoking crack. There are 2-3 kids in each of our recent classes that Zook or Creyer would even consider recruiting.

Trying to play 2006 off as untalented team is a total delusion. It was a top 2-3 roster with another innthe long line of Fooley/Stricklin shytty coaching hires.

Miscoached? absolutely.

The same kind of coaching that made Joe Burrows look like a 3rd stringer under Creyer.

BTW, you said the same shyt about 2019 UF being just like 2006 Gators and were just as fvkktarded then too.

I hear Don Millens is gonna lead us to the playoffs next year. No less than Irving Meyers said it. Take it to the bank where the Zooker
sweeps up. You guys kill me with all this offseason banter........bottom line was the HARDWARE...........Good coaches adapt and learn as they progress in their careers. DM IS a GOOD coach.

To recap:
Urban Meyer can’t coach.
Deshawn Wynn = Fred Taylor
Zook, who signed signed 8 2-star guys and a handful of JuCo busts in 3 years, wouldn’t take most of our roster.

Day drinking is dangerous.

I didn’t say 2020 (or 2019) would be (was) just like 2006. I said it lacks stars so it’s path to a championship would have to look more like 2006.

It’s hard to read through the bottom of a glass.

It’s a good thing you block your history. Your prediction for 2019 was like 4-5 wins.

Can't you have a discussion with someone without calling them a fvkktard? Grow up.

The OL sucked at times, especially Buchanan, but all were inconsistent, however THE MAIN PROBLEM REMAINS THAT WE RUN OPTION PLAYS THAT LEAVE THE DE UNBLOCKED, on almost every fvkking play.
Interesting take and pretty much true. I've watched the oline quite a bit in highlights and there is almost always 3 maybe 4 of them doing the right thing and maybe 1 or 2 of them not executing.....however I see a bigger problem with our running game when Trask is in the game.... It seems a pretty simple solution by lining up in a pistol so the entire defense doesn't know which way the running play is going to go( our offset back telegraphs the play when he starts moving with the line)It would also allow us to use more counter while still running the option and Trask is about as perfect of a(passing) Pistol QB as I can imagine......I'll wait patiently next season to see if DM figures this wrinkle out...

Perhaps you should contact CDM and inform him.
