It’s not a personal consumer purchase of a boat. This is a massive income producing investment. The income greatly outpaces the depreciation. Capital investment strategies would strongly contrast with your theory.
And thus the qualification.

Proud to say I still have, and can fit into, my orange painter pants that I wore in college.... despite decades of constantly pulling them from the trash where my wife keeps seeming to "misplace" them.

I had just my "college" ties, until my grandfather passed away... now I own his "Gator" tie and a few others that would be what he wore on days he worked and the Gators were playing.

Meanwhile, at another SEC school this is going on - expected to open in time for their home opener Sep 12, 2020:

This doesn't make any sense.

I was told upgrades take at least 7-10 years to complete. How does this keep happening at every other SEC school?

Time to take the wrecking ball to McKethan:

So I joked about the covid affecting the all in one but what the f? Why not accelerate the baseball stadium demo since the baseball team does not need it this year? Another in a long list of stupid errors.

So I mentioned to one of our project managers (not for the UAA) that there are rumors that a new infirmary will share the vacant baseball site and added it will probably be built first. He seemed a bit defensive and said no way they are already building the new operation center to maintain the new stand alone, so I dropped it. The next time I was over that way I drove by and sure enough they have built a state of the art building on the site where Fooley and butters proposed the stand alone.
That's right folks the painters and grass cutters are getting a new facility before the football team. There's no end to the incompetence of the UAA.
