This is a complete Fcuk You White and take some responsibility. He sucks. Fire his ass.

He’s made similar quotes earlier. He passes the buck without ever stating names. I really wonder who he is referring to.

Can’t be the 3 starting soph’s. There seems to be a connection there. I doubt it’s Blackshear. The freshmen Jitoboh and Glover are playing more than they even expected and seem excited. Lewis is very upbeat, always smiling and defended MW.

That leaves Bassett who could be upset over his lack of playing time and Payne and Mann whose PT has been sporadic. Plus those two are rarely seen smiling like Lewis. Both have struggled with defense and MW fancies himself a defensive guru. So I wonder if they are who he is referring to.

I would like to see MW come out once like Calipari did after Tennessee and take some blame and say I got outcoached.

I guess the folks here are better informed than I. I seem to remember Billy having similar issues until one or two players actually reacted to these situations by scoring. Instead our point guard makes a mistake and ends any chance of winning this game. I saw those back door plays, time outs, and inbound plays in this game. Seems to me the players need to be much better, more than a different coach. Who would you suggest to replace him if you had that decision to make?

My disagreement with White is primarily philosophical. I would rather see an uptempo offensive transition game, uptempo extended defensive approach and to not take the air out of the balk too early with a lead.

Unlike most others.....I think his development of the 3 soph’s and all 5 freshmen has been on target. I realized by the FSU game our heralded newcomers were nowhere near as good as I thought they were. They needed a lot of work. Lots of flaws that needed to be worked on.

We have progressed over the season but we are still soft and lack a killer instinct. One major problem is we lack a real closer offensively. Some who can consistently say give me the ball and I’ll get a bucket.

Collectively we really have nobody...nobody...who can consistently create their own shot. Nobody that can shoot off the dribble from the outside.

Lewis is finally attacking the basket although he often takes strangle angles and Mann consistently beats his man off the dribble but almost always goes with a floater (missing) rather than get to the rack.

It's most glaring to me when we have a rebound. Any defensive people back and the ball is walked up the court to the right where the dribbler waits until everyone is down there and set. The problem with that is the defense is set as well. I'd rather see the ball handler hot foot it down the court and challenge the defenders present. Two on two, three on three may just get a nice close in open shot or put back. If not then pull back and run your set offense, you will still have 20 or so seconds to execute a play.

I doubt I am better informed on basketball than anyone else ... but I do know that Billy won championships while Mike don't. So ...

Completely agree. I think White plays to Nembhards strength at the expense of just about everyone else’s. The crazy part is I think Nembhard would be effective pushing the ball upcourt with Keonte, Lewis, and Mann filling lanes and Locke flaring to a wing and Payne trailing.

But White sees Blackshear and Nembhard as his best players and both play a slower game.

Except for Kentucky and maybe LSU we have superior talent than the other teams in our league. It would seem to me that one on one with less congestion would allow that talent mismatch to be better utilized.

There's an air of "hopelessness" in White's afterloss statements.?? If players aren't out-hustling, out-maneuvering their opponent, then the HC has been derelict in developing players. Can anyone that's watched enough say they can see White passionately getting in the face of mistake players and driving a point home. Maybe White's not conveying enough to "buy into.". Perhaps most players' mostly believe in a blended inside/outside attack from ball movement teammates providing execution.

Perhaps players are not "buying in" because White does not believe in any game template that discounts the outside shot.?? Something is definitely wrong when that coach throws his players under the bus you can know the problem seems out of his correctifying hands & brain.? He is not really getting through because his psyche cannot support the verve of being dynamic. UF needs better, deserves better.

With Billy even casual fans could appreciate the ball movement on offense and tempo-forcing defense. His big issue early was ‘one and done’ in the tourney. But rational fans and pundits who understand tournament play could forgive this, confident the complete package was there. And that things would even out in the tournament over time (and boy did they ever!).

He had no pattern of systematically losing to inferior opposition or almost ubiquitously suffering crushing come back defeats to teams of equal talent. He knew how to use various combinations of bigs, slashers, and shooting guards - and his offense was fun to watch as a result. There’s no legitimate comparison to MW.

Exactly but I don't really see him stalling that much other than when there is not a good alternative. I think (not so great at analysis) is that the players don't see an opening so they hang around, of course they can move the ball and not stand around so I don't think it is a coaching tradition. I could be wrong.

No I don’t think he stalls either. My issue is simply we don’t push the ball up court aggressively. I have less complaints about the sets we run than others because I see all the wide open shots we get consistently.
