One of my favorite times of the year. I have always LOVED watching the tourney and all the games every year since I was a kid.

The median age to contract this is 60.

The median age for a fatality is 80.

They have even had "Negative" children born to "Positive" mothers.

We have had 1,000 cases of Corona-virus in the USA....BUT...We have had 8,000 DEATHS due to the FLU!!! (Is the Media covering that?)

This is an "ECONOMIC" Pandemic driven by the media...I think to boost ratings and tear down TRUMP's Economy.

On average 3 people are killed or injured every hour in the USA by a falling t.v. It'd make more sense to not show it on TV if their truly worried about peoples health.

I dont think they will and I dont think they should. High risk people shouldnt attend for sure though, so they stay as safe as possible

This is exactly what the Georgia High School Association recommended to its member schools:

"There is currently no guidance for cancelling mass gatherings other than for individuals at high risk to stay home and for everyone to practice appropriate hygiene (hand washing, etc.) that would normally be practiced during the flu season. We are told [by the CDC] not to overreact and that decisions to postpone games should be local decisions made with appropriate information.”

GHSA leaves coronavirus decisions to local schools for now

Our minister offered sound advice, taken directly from the CDC this Sunday. Services will continue. No one shakes hands, fist bumps, or elbow bumps. Place hand over heart in greeting instead. Try to keep 3’ personal space. Stay home if you have cold or flu symptoms. Stay home if you are high risk. Services offered on live feed so you can watch on a computer from home. Wash hands frequently. God loves you. Don’t panic.

NCAA should take note.

You are 100% correct

Stop the meaningless panic and get on with your life. The first step is to turn off the TV

Crazy...people on here mark this drunk or stoned.

I am not saying be stupid but for MSM to carry on is over the top.

One day we will get hit with a LETHAL Pandemic...This does not appear to be it. It will help us get prepared and wake some people up...But the FLU is so much worse...

I agree that the media helps feed into the hysteria, but this IS worse than the flu. I know it is convenient and easy to compare it to the flu but there are a couple of distinct differences. First, the death rate for the flu is much lower than what we know the death rate is for COVID. The flu has a death rate of about 0.1 while COVID is showing death rates anywhere between 1.5 to 4.5. Second, the many strains of the flu are well known and have various vaccines for them. COVID is a new strain that we know little about at this time and have no vaccines for. Third transmission appears to be very easy as the virus appears to be very hardy being able to survive exposed.

Given these rates and the primarily the unknown of this virus due to its newness, the best method of combating its effects is containment until either a vaccine is found or it runs its course. So it makes sense to seriously consider eliminating mass gatherings of people in close quarters or at least genuinely consider potential impacts. Now I have no ideal how it all ties into lack of Teepee lol.

At this point I could see the games being played with no fans, but there's no way they'd cancel the whole thing. I'd riot if they did, chain myself to a basketball hoop or something.

Once one league suspends a season, the others will follow. The NBA will, at least, no longer allow fans. We should know something today or tomorrow.

I am not suggesting that this is no worse than the flu
I am suggesting that the drama queens on the news stations are playing this up purely for political purposes.
You can laugh if you like but there are a couple of networks that are approaching this as a second attempt at an impeachment and I refuse to participate in their madness
Be smart and take care of yourself is the only advice needed
