The median age to contract this is 60.

The median age for a fatality is 80.

They have even had "Negative" children born to "Positive" mothers.

We have had 1,000 cases of Corona-virus in the USA....BUT...We have had 8,000 DEATHS due to the FLU!!! (Is the Media covering that?)

This is an "ECONOMIC" Pandemic driven by the media...I think to boost ratings and tear down TRUMP's Economy.
I need an expert opinion on this. @T REX - your thoughts?

I agree that the media helps feed into the hysteria, but this IS worse than the flu. I know it is convenient and easy to compare it to the flu but there are a couple of distinct differences. First, the death rate for the flu is much lower than what we know the death rate is for COVID. The flu has a death rate of about 0.1 while COVID is showing death rates anywhere between 1.5 to 4.5. Second, the many strains of the flu are well known and have various vaccines for them. COVID is a new strain that we know little about at this time and have no vaccines for. Third transmission appears to be very easy as the virus appears to be very hardy being able to survive exposed.

Given these rates and the primarily the unknown of this virus due to its newness, the best method of combating its effects is containment until either a vaccine is found or it runs its course. So it makes sense to seriously consider eliminating mass gatherings of people in close quarters or at least genuinely consider potential impacts. Now I have no ideal how it all ties into lack of Teepee lol.
It's down to flu like death rates now. It's not that serious

Beyond weird, would cheerleaders/band be considered essential personnel? Gonna be odd with nothing but squeaking shoes. But hey we should be able to hear the coaches shouting plays?!

A lot of this only happened because the governor of Ohio was going to create an executive order for no games in Ohio which was a region. This has a lot of politics behind it.

I agree the media is hyping it up. I’m all for survival of the fittest.
However, in WA they’ve only tested ~200 individuals as positive at this point, but they suspect over 1,000 would test positive if we had the test kits available. That’s just one state. They’re getting them now, so we’ll see. We don’t even have good numbers at this point since the test kits, en masse, are just getting distributed to the states. They just closed all Seattle schools for a minimum of two weeks starting tomorrow. We still don’t know enough about this thing - it’s a big unknown due to not having good data. Could turn out to be no more than a bad flu year, but I think this thing is still going to balloon before it gets better.

This is just ridiculous. There are 12 deaths in USA that isn't worth stopping an entire tourament
Where on earth did you get your flu like death rates. I just got off the phone on a 1.5 hour conf call with the CDC and others. They may be slow but they're not stupid. We have pretty much switched from stopping it to containing it. Panic No. Common sense yet.
