In the old days, before instant media, this thing would have gone unnoticed. Some people would get sick. Scientist would work on a vaccine and next year they'd just add it to the flu shot.

This is the second best thing the NBA has ever done. The first was "NBA Jam" on Sega Genesis back in 1994.

Edit: I guess now I can say the best thing for MLB since "Bad News Baseball" and the best thing for NHL since "Blades of Steel".

We're only a few days behind everyone else since it took longer to get here. Give it time.
It's a disaster here as well, just not quite at the level of Italy or Iran. We totally screwed the pooch on this one. A lack of testing and available test kits in local hospitals, poor controls at entry points, delays, delays, delays, etc.. We should have *extensive* testing by now. The bureaucracies have completely failed us.

You know it shows the intelligence of the country when people won’t drink Corona due to the virus. Great! More left for me to drink up. Again, folks, don’t go around licking door handles and such. Wash yourselves. Use hand sanitizer on your filthy hands and azzes. Stop the insanity!

Well....we are all shut down

SEC Regular Season, SEC Championship Competition and Non Conference Regular Season Suspended for UF Athletics

Hi Dan,

Southeastern Conference commissioner Greg Sankey announced today that beginning Thursday, March 12 and continuing until at least Monday, March 30, regular-season competition for teams in all sports on SEC campuses, as well SEC championship events, will be immediately suspended. The first event affected by this will be the SEC Men's Basketball Tournament in Nashville, which will be canceled.

Gator athletic teams will not compete in any non-conference regular season events during this period.

NCAA Championship participation will be determined by NCAA authority.

The University of Florida announced it will move classes online by Monday, March 16, and classes will remain online until at least March 30. Student athletes and other students that remain on campus will continue to have access to Gator Dining, health facilities and other support services. The campus will remain open and fully operational.

The Gators Ticket Office will automatically refund all ticket purchases for events scheduled to take place from March 13 to March 30. Refunds will be processed back to the form of payment used for the original purchase. All purchasers will be contacted once the refund is processed.

The Florida athletic teams will be permitted to hold practices and team activities, but will not travel or participate in competition.

The football team, which begins spring practice on March 16 will close practices to the public.

In addition, Dan Mullen’s public speaking tour in March will not be held at this time.

Once our first member is confirmed to have it I’ll have to shut this place down.
All kidding aside, I just posted a new thread in the political forum sharing an advisement we received at work on some new Corona virus info related malware. Wasn't sure of the best place to put it.....

Beginning to filter into high school sports, which was inevitable when the pros and colleges started shutting things down. We have already had to cancel a doubleheader tomorrow. More to come with the other spring sports.

I won’t mind being reminded if I’m wrong, but this all seems to be a great overreaction. Should we take some precautions? Prudently over excessively. I’m right at 60 and have a compromised immune system, but I don’t think going into quarantine is the course I’m going to take.

A coworker remarked that all of the pandemic pandemonium resembles one of those end of the world movies or miniseries. Hmmm. It’s not like we are inundated by such and the political climate nowadays does nothing to dissuade, particularly since the Democrats are trotting out two “Walkers” to try and unseat the Republicans’ “Neagan!” My granddaddy said, upon seeing a man with a ponytail for the first time, that “I’ve lived too long!” I understand the sentiment when I see the masses running around like chickens with their heads cut off. But life will go on, of that I’m certain.
