I love the video posted with the article. I posted the same thing in another thread. Usually, teams that win their conference are happy. They look devastated because they really did have a shot at a natty and it is gone for good.

So, a team who... if memory serves correctly... has made the Elite 8 once in the program's history, is such an overwhelming lock to win in a field of 64 that the Senate felt they needed to proclaim them the obvious national champion? That is beyond pathetic.

Btw, THIS is how the Senate chose to spend their valuable time? I guess all the important problems were already solved...

It just means they've fallen all the way to UCF territory with imaginary championships. Hopefully the Senate won't do the same for UF baseball.

My thoughts exactly. This is political grandstanding at its finest. It is shameful in light of the current circumstances we face.

Looks like they were trying to get out ahead of the legislatures from North Carolina and Kansas and Kentucky, etc. Now they can say "we were first to declare".

FSU fans should be embarrassed. But they won't be.

This is just embarrassing. Thanks to UCF anyone can claim a championship now.

If any gators voted for this they should be ashamed.

Which team was ranked #1 at the time of cancellation? Wouldn't THAT team be the "champions by default?"

Edit: looks like Kansas gets the nod, based on logic used by normal people.

Just when I thought that some entity in Florida couldn’t do anything any more embarrassing, I am proven wrong yet again

Well, they were ranked #4 when the NCAA pulled the plug so it makes perfect sense that the Florida legislature, in the middle of a world pandemic virus crisis, decided to jump into a playpen and waste Floridian taxpayers dollars on this inane bullsh@t.
