Feels like a million years ago.

Man we were such an optimistic bunch.

5 years later...

Once again, a thread title and random bump that causes me to log in and see, only to leave me highly disappointed.

When this thread was started, who knew Crucial would become a hiphop star?

Bumping this thread should be grounds for banishment. We already have enough grief in our lives without reliving this nightmare.

I esp want my Dec. 7, 2014 post removed. It’s tarnished whatever little intelligent brand I had left.

After reviewing the thread, I have into give credit where credit’s due. Williston(not surprising), Sas(very surprising) and a few others had a pretty balanced take on things.

The rest of us...yikes. We wanted something so badly that we were duped by Jim McElwain. Guy couldn’t land a blind kid with no other offers, but we’re over here talking about his “aww shucks” routine and how it’ll kill it on the trail, and I’m stumbling over my words to find a creative way to defend Foley’s attire.

There did, however, appear to be one person in particular that seemed as if he was, how you say, a big nut-swinger of Mr McElwain. Always had been.

It’s like reliving an office Christmas party where you were video’d after your fourth drink.

I said there "was a lot to like about this man". Ouch. Makes me want to crawl into a hole.

If I remember correctly, I liked the hire at the time. But, I didn't know much about him other than he won 2 titles as the OC and did well at Colorado St. Who else was available? Did we settle? I don't remember any other candidates.

I had stated a number of times we simply couldn't do any worse than the Chimp. Just fire him and hire someone, it had to be better.

Boy, was I wrong. Foley managing to hire someone even worse than the Chimp was an unbelievable feat only he could pull off.

He wasn't really worse than Chimp. More like, Fooley hired basically same not ready for prime time loser. The same 4 win coach. Their winning percentages were actually pretty close to the same.

Chimp at least works at coaching, he just sucks at it. Butters is a lazy, salary-stealing leech. That's much worse.
