Metallica’s Black album always does it right

Tom Petty’s greatest hits is a good go to

probably not your style, but Nas Illmatic is an all time great rap album

Boston’s first album. Long Time is in my all-time top 10. Simon and Garfunkel’s greatest hits is up there. A more eclectic choice would be the soundtrack from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Anything by Tom Petty (Wildflowers is a good place to start).

Willie Nelson - Two of them that are outstanding:

Red Headed Stranger (story album - great for listening all the way through)
and
Stardust (tribute to the standard classics)

Leaving out the obvious - anything by Led Zeppelin.
Toys in the Attic is a great choice. Aerosmith's first 6 albums up to 1979 are all a good bet.
Rush: Fly By Night (1975) is one of my all time favorite albums
Queen: First Three albums.(up to '74) Queen One is one of the best rock albums eva.
UFO: Force It (1975). If you don't know Michael Schenker you don't know what you're missing.
Alice Cooper: First 7 albums(up to '73) but Killer is my favorite. Cooper was under rated by the public but the band created the Detroit Rock sound that everybody copied.
Steppenwolf: At Your Birthday Party (1969) is a personal favorite.
Foghat Live (1977). Before they went corporate rock.
Bad Company: Bad Company 1 (1975)
Riot: First three albums but Fire Down Under (1981) might be the best.
Styx: Equinox (1975) and Crystal Ball (1976)
Kiss: Alive! (1975) You wanted the best, and now you got it. The hottest band in the land, KISS!

May not agree with our virus takes, but you got me with your music!

Love UFO. Have been a huge fan since highschool. Equinox was the first rock album that I ever listened to. Rush is by far my favorite band.

Anything Hendrix

Candlebox’s first album

GNR - appetite for destruction

Nirvana - Nevermind

Jump Little Children - vertigo or between the dim and dark

Lots of great stuff out there from the grunge/alternative era, classic rock and more hair metal than they get credit for

Off the top of my head...
Van Morrison - Moondance
The Who - Who’s Next
Counting Crows - August and Everything After
REM - Automatic for the People
TP & the Heartbreakers - Damn the Torpedoes
The Stones - Exile on Main Street
Dave Matthews - Under the Table and Dreaming
Crosby, Stills, & Nash - Debut
Adele - 21
Jim Croce - You don’t mess around with Jim
Compilations are cheating, but if original soundtracks aren’t then:
Vangelis - Chariots of Fire soundtrack.
And a bunch already mentioned.
