I just recently sold my small business (yes, very lucky) and I have put all the money into a E-trade account that is using their automated manager. (yes, bad idea) I did this as I am not experienced in this arena. What would you suggest to someone who would like to learn a lot more about investing?

Based on what is going on, I am almost ready to take what I have a just cash out and hoard it for now as it appears that liquidity is going to be something that we all need in the very near future.

Put your money in an index fund and never look at it again until you die and leave it to your heirs, or need it. Easy Peasy.

Quick update. I put my money with E*Trade and I am using their Automated Broker System. This will have to work in the short term.

Has anyone dabbled in the Forex Market? If so, what platform have you found to work best for you?

Well well well, a newbie one day, foreign currency trading the next. One might think you have dived directly into the deep end of the pool. But no. You have gone directly into that 100 foot cliff diving thingy somewhere in the jungles of Brazil. Good luck and try not to get run over by all those trucks or carried out in a body bag.

I've known a lot of people who have dabbled in Forex. I've never known anyone that didn't lose everything they put at risk.

My best friend’s dad devoted several years in that market. He’d make fortunes. And lose bigger fortunes.

Well, I guess this is something I should jump in with both feet and put everything I have in it!

On May 19th our newbie investor wades in with Automated Broker System and then on June 1 he feels ready for FOREX. Let a machine do it for me for 12 days and then I will walk in and push around the likes of Goldman, Morgan Stanley, UBS, BNP Paribas, JP Morgan, Credit Suisse, etc. etc. etc. Sounds about right :lmao2:
