I remember several posters getting butt-hurt when a few of us said this was a sh*tty take by the staff. He commits today to...the powerhouse, Tennessee State:

I liked him as a junior. But, he ballooned. I saw recent photos of him. He looks like a walking chocolate doughnut. Kid ended up there due to weight problems. We are getting decent guards. We need tackles which he wasn’t. I’m glad he was pushed out.

Article notes that Evans:

"Noticed that besides Clyde Edwards-Helaire (No. 32 pick to Kansas City Chiefs), a good portion of running backs from the SEC did not come off the board in the first round. Those sources indicated that by attending TCU and playing in a wide-open offense that'll allow Evans to catch passes out of the backfield, his draft stock would ultimately be higher."

Also that the visit to Gainesville never happened due to COVID shutdowns.

Knox'd again. At some point, Dan's loyalty to subpar performers is going to mean his job.

Remember when Richt's Bulldogs were perennially good, but #2 in the SEC East? Sure, they went to the championship in Atlanta every 5 years or so, but it was an exception, not the rule. Is that good enough? Because that is where UF is headed absent an improvement in talent.

First off, welcome to the board.

The Richt comparisons are starting to be an insult to Richt. He at least signed top 10 recruiting classes and won the SEC a few times.

(and before anyone says "Hey! Mullen signed two top 10 classes!" Ummm, no he didn't. When 9 of your signees in three classes don't see game #1, those classes are paper tigers. His 19 class was actually around 14th, and this 2020 class is now a solid #12 or lower.)

Welcome to the board. Beware of the talking donkey. He bites

I don't think this one is on Knox. I mean, in Knox's defense, he lost out on Evans a long time ago. Evans wouldn't even ive Knox the time of day. Brewster is the one who had Evans considering UF.

I think this is just Evan's wanting to stay home, we were never able to get him on campus. He was scheduled march 20th and it was all cancelled

All kidding aside, I think this is right. Very rarely do kids sign with a school they have never visited.

Why would you... go to a campus you have never seen. As a young man wouldn't you want to see the campus and the females that occupy it before going there.

I’m putting this on Knox. Another coach is having to recruit his position for him because he sucks so hard! Maybe we do not have to chase kids like Evans if we have a competent recruiter that can land highly rated in state kids? I have said it a hundred times but if Mullen gets fired, it all started when he brought that idiot in and kicked Seider to the curb. Symptom of a larger problem (extreme loyalty over winning) but that is still the absolute worst example. I used to think bringing in English was the next biggest issue but now I am starting to lean towards hiring Hev, maybe BG. At least English is getting warm bodies on campus. @ltraz point about Dwag chokers stupid scheme and constant S rotations has made me wonder how bad English really is or if he is a victim of a stupid scheme.

I do not see how the failure to recruit a top notch running back can be laid at the feet of anyone else but the running backs coach. Looking at the big board of running backs for 2021, all of the top backs seem to have chosen schools already. Does this mean we're going to start looking at some beefy wide receivers to convert the running back? LOL

Thanks for the welcome.

I was on Mudlizard's board in 1995, then went to the GSMB for a few years, then to Swamp Gas for a long time (I was a moderator on Swamp Gas for 8 years)...I hung around there until it was the latest iteration of 24/7. Loving Hollywood Bob's stuff as I did, I stuck it out as long as I could; but eventually, the Posse was too much for me. I have since been dividing my time between there and Ray's newest Swamp Gas forums. I am the same BULLGATOR (always in caps) that has been around for over 2.5 decades on one or more Gator Message boards.

Are you actually a Bull? If so, please let the AD know that the football staff sucks and needs revising.
