I have had it with Spectrum. I had the internet, land-line phone & cable TV bundled and a breakdown of the charges revealed I was paying $136./month for cable TV. I mainly watch the news, occasionally a couple of sitcoms and always football. Do any of you have Hulu and any problem getting any of the sports stations - particularly the SEC & ACC networks? Have you experienced any problems with Hulu and do you like it? If I changed over it would be $62./month. I appreciate any input.

I've bumped a thread that may help -

Cord Cutters - Gator Games?

I thought there was a broader thread on cutting the cord in general, maybe this was it.

In related news, we just got Hulu ourselves...hadn't considered the sports aspect, so I'll listen for replies as well. Fwiw, we still have Fios and go the Disney+/ESPN/Hulu package, so sports shouldn't be an issue (I know ya'll were concerned), but I'd still like to hear from others.

We got Hulu recently (same package based on your price). Kind of hard to test out its sports capabilities right now...

Look in the Home Auto Forum and/or the Investing Forum. There are at least two threads that have a lot of discussion in them about various packages and choices. They were helpful when I was in the process of switching.

The Beginner's Guide to Cord Cutting 2020 - Cord Cutters News

Here is a really good site to compare different services - Suppose... you could design your perfect TV service
You can put in any combination of channels to find the service that suits you best - Hulu, YouTube Channel, Sling, etc.

I think Clark Howard had some good info as well.

PlayStation Vue was fantastic but it is no longer and we switched to Sling...and so far it is very meh. Sports on it pretty much suck but everything else is fine. For local sports I’ve got a $5 antenna that produces better picture than any cable. ESPN app is better than sling for watching games.

Daytona, you OK? I know you had some health issues recently. You started a thread asking for help, but then haven't participated. Just wondering, and want to be sure you're good! ;)

Were pretty happy with YouTube TV. $50 per month gets you several espn channels, SEC, acc, big 10-ish networks, and I think Fox sports. ESPN and SEC gets me all the Gator games, so I haven't paid attention to the others much.

We have access to hulu and other on demand channels too.

@the Dude, Aerial digital quality is better than what comes over cable/sat dish because it is NOT compressed and they are.

Treebeard, thanks for asking. I am doing great since my mitral valve replacement surgery back on October 30th. I am no longer anemia and general overall health has been greatly improved. Now that I am able to be up and about without problem, the pandemic comes along and I have to stay put. Oh well, this too shall pass eventually. Just hope it doesn't interfer with college football.

Ok, glad to hear it. Seemed odd to start a "what do you think" thread on a weekend and then disappear!

That's the general idea. Over-the-Air broadcast channels are limited to 20 Mbps and that is split with all it's sub-channels (Tallahassee Ch 6.1,6.2, 6.3,6.4 & 6.5) all share the allotted 20 Mbps. That's compressed from the 100's of Mbps in studio.
Satellite tv is much more aggressively compressed than OTA because they have much less bandwidth to use........OTA will you a much cleaner signal and better picture.
