One of my favorites

Love X! They opened for Warren Zevon at the Halloween Ball at the Bandshell in 87, my first year in G'Ville. Great show!
Have seen them several times since, a couple of times as The Knitters, out here in Seattle.
They (X) just came out with a new album. Haven't heard it yet, but will be listening soon.
X the band

Listening now, it's just an EP - 'Free' is probably my favorite; liked 'Water and Wine' a lot too.

Love The Guess Who and BTO... and some Grand Funk Railroad...
Same here. I do believe The Guess Who is one of the most underrated & under appreciated bands there ever was. I tend to listen/watch live performance way more than studio stuff(feel it's a better way to appreciate the talent or lack of), and TGW when watched live is amazing at their talent. Any band can be made to sound good(or at least better than they are) in a studio with editing and dubbing, etc....but they can't hide when it's live. I always liked TGW for years but after searching on YouTube and finding the live concerts of TGW and I was really impressed. They're better than I ever thought. Burton Cummings has an amazing voice(still to this day as far as I know), and Randy Bachman is a truly great guitarist.

Heck you got me thinking about TGW enough I dug up this other live version of American Woman which is pretty good. They apparently knew how to work a crowd....too bad I never got to see them live.

This is for those of us old enough to appreciate the significance of it. Closing down Shea Stadium in 2008 was Billy Joel performing in front of 110,000 people. Last minute arrangements got McCartney to come play a song immediately after getting off the plane from London. Same guy who drove the Beatles in 64(?) onto the field also drove McCartney this time....a cool story at the beginning of the vid. Music is iconic too of course.

Been listening to Mazzy Star recently with my 11 year old. Such a crush on her when I was 14. Very fitting music for spring summer weekend afternoons, mostly at home.

been listening to alot of classic southern rock/country lately. skynard, alabama, marshall tucker band, confederate railroad... those sorts of groups.

reminds me of growing up, riding around in my dad's pickup and listening to the analog radio. good tunes from a great time in America.

Definitely an under appreciated voice. Amazing thing is that seeing recent videos of him shows that voice hasn't dropped off hardly at all. He's still got it over 50 years later! o_O
