@cover2 -pretty sure Zambo was wondering what effect rubbin the coriolis would have
That figures. I remember seeing some monkeys at the At-lanta zoo when I was younger. None of ‘em could keep their hands off the coriolis or whatever the simian term is. I’ll bet @Zambo was rough on the stick when he was flying regular.

Oh. Yeah... this is now into Coot territory.

So there are no brackets to hold a can light assembly already in place behind those holes you cut?
So in the end I went with the low voltage recessed LEDs. They put out a surprising amount of light. I installed a dimmer switch and we find the lowest setting to be very satisfactory. There is a slight strobe effect when the fan is on (more noticeable by the women folk for some reason), so it has been determined I need to raise the fan a foot or so, and I need to touch up the paint in a couple of spots, but otherwise it’s all good and was a fairly easy project. The toughest part was running some of the wire in a very tight space. Thank God for the old fish-tape!

So we have a ton of fruit bats in the area. Every day at dusk they come fluttering by near the pool. I always assumed they were grabbing insects. Well, as I am sitting under my pergola enjoying a cold beer, I decided to attempt to videotape them. They are actually swooping through and taking sips of water making a tiny ripple. I was able to get a couple of screenshots as most of the time they were simply a blur:

No clue. It's a salt pool so there arent any chemicals in there. At least none except for those generated through electrolysis.

In times like this where it hasnt rained in 3 weeks... the squirrels will also come up and take a sip. It's hilarious how they have to do it. For years, they would dangerously try to hang off the edge with their hind legs. A few have figured out to jump straight up in the air about 2 feet and land on the sundeck that is roughly 4 inches deep. This way the can hit the bottom and immediately bounce out. Bastards.

Got another project underway. This one’s not a DIY. When we took possession of the lake place, Michael had destroyed the existing dock and Carolina Carport used for the boat shed. Even though the wife was glad the shed was down, we hated to not have a dock. Finally found a guy and in two days he got the old dock remains out and most of the piers set with the bracing...

I don’t have a good photo, but you can see from the one I have just what kind of shape the old dock was in. We’d already pulled the old Carolina Carport out and hauled it off...

My dock guy says that if the weather holds up, he’ll have it ready for the weekend. This type of structure is new to me other than having fished off of docks before, so is it customary to put some type of sealer or preservative on them?

Second day of the dock build. Step down...

All the piers and supporting in place. Decking, benches, and railing on the right side going out is all that remains.

I can... and have done it.

Within months of moving into our current house.... which we designed and custom built.... the wife asked for a pocket door to be installed at the entrance of a small hallway. I figured matching the eventual huge drywall repair would put a nail in this idea. As luck would have it, we were doing a small reno in an office at work and the drywall master was there. He said he could 100% match the future massive hole I was thinking about putting into the wall. So, I did it. And then watched him work his magic. Which was awe inspiring. Watching him armed me with some techniques that I have honed in over the years.

Ok, after weeks of searching I have identified @bradgator2 's drywall mentor known as Master GloryHoleRepairinaCan.
