Doesn't Chad Jackson hold some stats from 2005? Thought he did. But I get it. I'm just not sure I agree. Outside of his catch in the NC game, the most memorable play I can think of is the kickoff against ut where he took a helmet to the femur, breaking it, and somehow didn't fumble. Serious respect from me for that.

Your sarcasm meter is off SoFla, do I need to talk about the Eagles are something?

Another generation influenced poll. I know of 3 catches RN made, all great. But I was too young to appreciate it. Even guys like Chandler and Alvarez, I just take people's word for it.

There are also guys who got saddled with bad coaching for a portion of their career and then blossomed late, like Ernie Mills. If he has Spurrier for his 5 years, he's probably in this conversation. As is, he's not.

In all honesty, he deserves a spot (being it is a +1) for just one of those catches against UGA.

Gaffney should be much higher. I would have Jabar, Taylor Jacobs
and even Chad Jackson over Doering. Jacquez is way underrated on this
list too.

I only even know of the one against uga. I was referencing two great catches on the final drive against Aub in '86.

Anyway, I'd rather not talk teams or players whose seemingly ancient accomplishments are remembered only through grainy VHS footage. I have too much respect for you to go down that path.

Shouldn’t Andre Dubose be on here? No Gator WR has had more preseason hype or years with the team. Has to count for something. In fact, is this his break out year?

I would put Collinsworth at 7. I would also add Ricky Nattiel to the top ten above Jack Jackson and Andre Caldwell. I am good with the top six. But 7-10 IMO is wrong.

Good addition!
Ricky Nattiel is another really good one that didn’t make the list because he played during an era when a running game was key

Wasn't Wes Chandler used a bit as a wildcat before there was such a play as the wildcat? - just to get his hands on the ball?

In my initial post, I'd written "what about WiLLLLLLLie Jackson", but then deleted it to focus on my other points. But, yeah, he was one of the first to kill it in Spurrier's offense. The catch he made in the rain in Bham on Dean's bomb is the most memorable part of that game for me, besides Edge's run. He also dominated the WVU secondary a month later. Saw both of those live, and he was lights out. I think he should be in consideration. I'm just not sure over JJ. I still think AC is the biggest question mark, stats or not. Great WR. Not sure Top-10 considering what we've put out.
JJ was a fine player, I don't think he had the consistency of Jackson Jr. I was at Birmingham too, what a game!

I could agree with that. Consistency vs electricity.

As for that Bham game, late afternoon/early evening in cold, December rain with a kid who still had pneumonia from the uga game over a month prior. Pretty sure my parents would've been arrested today.

My wife and I were with a group from Collinsville, Al. It WAS cold and wet but everything was bright and sunny for me. The year before I had to wear a elephant hat after the game on a bet with our friend Irma. That night she hot footed out and thought she had escaped to a Mexican Restaurant in Gadsden but her son in law ratted her out. We caught up, it was funny and great!

He lined up in the backfield quite a bit. They may have even listed him as a RB one year?

That was nothing but good and proper training.

Yes
As Frozen Gator said.
Chandler was such an exceptional talent that it made sense to get the ball in his hands as much as possible

1. Wes Chandler and it ain’t even close.
2. Percy Harvin. Not the greatest hands or route runner but the closest I’ve ever seen to Wes as far as what he could do after the catch.
3. Chris Collingsworth. Great route runner and possibly the best hands at WR that we’ve ever had.
4-10. Throw about a dozen names in a bag and finish the list.

I was too young to recall Carlos Alvarez but those who aren’t will probably list him top 3.

Love the fact that you hunted someone down in an entirely different town to ensure she honored a bet. Has a Costanza/jerkstore feel to it.

I don't remember where it was(I was pretty tired and clinging to life by then), but after the game, we ate at some restaurant somewhere in Alabama maybe an hour away. Must've been off the interstate, because there were several tables of fellow Gators. Long story short, someone decided to lead "We are the boys", and you had about 6-7 tables all swaying and singing in chorus, in a restaurant in Alabama. It was a sight. I always say, that game is what made UF more than a one time flash in the pan. It established us as a power for years to come.

Gadsden wasn't that far away and they were/are great friends. Also on the way home.
