Rivals doesn't seem to agree:

. Alabama will continue to dominate the state of Florida.
Farrell’s take: FACT. Nick Saban continues to go into Florida and dominate the in-state schools and there are no signs of things slowing down. LB/DE

Dallas Turner
is the latest example of a player coveted by the Big Three in the state who was plucked away by the Tide. Alabama has four different four-stars from the state of Florida in Turner,
Christian Leary
,
Agiye Hall
and
Jacorey Brooks
, and you can make it five if you include IMG transplant
JC Latham
. This has been consistent for years now, as players such as
Amari Cooper
,
Calvin Ridley
,
Jerry Jeudy
,
Patrick Surtain
and many others have decided to compete at Alabama with great results. As long as Saban is around, Florida will be a pipeline.

Gorney’s take: FACT. Over the last four recruiting cycles, including 2021, Alabama has more commits or signees among the top 10 players in the state than Florida State, Florida or Miami. It’s not just Alabama, as Georgia, Ohio State, Clemson and others are coming in there for top talent. And Saban isn't just getting players from the state, he’s also developing them to be high-level NFL Draft picks. There aren’t many busts there. So, Alabama has the name recognition, the success, the development and the pipeline is growing. It’s going to continue.

Rivals.com - Fact or Fiction: Alabama will continue to dominate Florida

Lil Nick doesn't know what Dancin Dan knows. Lil Nick still thinks you need top talent to win. He just doesn't understand three star whisperin.

Look guys, “The sky is blue.”

That’s what you’re starting to sound like. We all know how bad recruiting is. You remind us EVERYDAY. Not sure we needed a full thread for you to tell us what we already know. What’s your point? Or who are you trying to convince? You’re always babbling and calling names, but your act is getting old. When I first joined this board I at least thought you were entertaining. Now you’re just insufferable.

I don’t care that you’re negative, but you’re like a little kid. @ltraz is pretty pessimistic about this staff also, but at least he presents facts and information to support his claims. I can respect that. But you just starting belly aching whenever someone says anything remotely positive. I’m sure you’ll just respond to this by calling me some immature names rather than actually supporting your claims.

In short, you suck! I understand people around here like you, but other than comic relief I don’t see your contribution.

The only programs beating us for top instate recruits are the perennial playoff teams. Bama, and Clemson. We are at least a decade behind both programs on all fronts.
No surprise there.

If I remember correctly, he was a huge target and the staff completely whiffed on him. Then the “insiders” said that he was not the right fit but ILB for Grantham’s defense.

Which just means they were trying to spin it.

I am not too pleased with the recruiting by this staff either but I try to consider the degree of difficulty they are dealing with.

We have grossly inferior facilities compared to the schools that are owning Florida AND we have grossly inferior bag men compared to those schools that are owning Florida.

We have a decision to make; we can either build the facilities and play the recruiting games to the level the others do or accept 10-2 as a good year

Other than that, there is no excuse for the performance of this staff

How could you possibly know the quality of our bag men? Did they all die after Meyer left? Did a few hang around for Muschamp’s first couple of classes then just give up? Come on man... the simplest explanation is often the correct one - this staff just sucks at recruiting, in general. There’s too much deadweight and kids do not want to be a part of it. That’s why Knox is reaching out to a RB in San Diego - no local kid will buy his BS.

We knew what we were getting with Mullen. A pretty good football coach and a meh recruiter. It's why more people were pissed at first about the hire compared to those that were happy. We did a good job convincing ourselves in the following months that he might be able to get us back where we want

I've tried to stay positive and have been crossing my fingers that the dude proves our initial reaction wrong. I am lukewarm about these first two seasons but the recruiting has me thinking that the guy is exactly who we thought he was. He can get us about to where Richt got UGA, and I'm not sure anything beyond that.

I will never understand the hire even if he does somehow end up proving us all wrong by raking in talent and winning titles. There was nothing that showed me he was championship material. Honestly the muschamp and Mac hires made more sense to me because at least there was some unknown with those two. Not that I was super excited about either of those.

I am not defending this staff I am just saying that I haven’t read any stories about a player signing with Florida and then his entire family relocates to Gainesville.

Other than a few homers, like Oscar and 904, nobody thinks we've "taken back the state" - unless they are full retard.

This staff is pathetic. If they keep napping on the job, FSU and Miami will surpass us within a year. That's not hyperbole either. FSU is struggling, but they'll pull a top 20 class; only 8-10 spots behind us which is splitting hairs once you get past the top 5-8 classes (you can have a pissing contest about how much better class ranking #9 is vs. ranking #14 and so forth). Miami, because they are in Miami, will continue to pull top 20 classes....and again, if we're finishing 8th, 10th, or wherever (ahead of them), it's splitting hairs. Especially when (on average) 2.5 of our signees will never make it to game 1 of their freshman year.
