I’ll watch it when I get a chance

You don't have to. It's just a few little ones. Nothing of any size at all. Just saying some days that's how it goes. I don't always catch big ones or high numbers of them, but I do give it my best shot. Even when I have to search and search and search all day. Fished from about 11am or a little earlier until 2pm without a bite, then finally started finding a few back in the creeks and coves. Wound up with 4 dinks from about 7 hours of fishing.

That is how it goes...that’s why it’s all about the fishing and not the catching

@NavetG8r You ever try using ultralights or are there too many snags? And the other question is are you using bobbers and bottomfishing?

The closest I come to using bobbers if you're specifically talking catfish fishing, is when I throw out the jug lines. With rod 'n reels I bottom fish for them. As for ultra-lights, I've hooked into something on an ultra-light in kerr lake that I couldn't even slow down but the hook popped out pretty quick. I assumed the lip was just too fat for the little hook to find any purchase because it was on a little panfish jig head with a gulp minnow. I don't think I would intentionally target catfish, or at least not blue cats or flatheads with an ultra-light. They just get too big. If you hooked into a 40lb+ blue or flathead on an ultra-light they'd spool you and you'd leave a bunch of line out there in the water for someone else to get all tangled up in or wrapped around a prop or something. Just not a good idea. Russ and I did go fish for channel cats in a local lake near where he lives with ultra-light gear, but they don't get much bigger than a pound or 2 in there because it's so heavily fished and it's re-stocked annually. You have to remember, Kerr Lake where I fish most of the time holds blue cats over 100lbs. An ultra-light would never have the backbone to even budge one of those things. They'd just think some leech had latched onto their chin and keep going.

Yeah, most of my early videos on my channel are of me fishing in the Haw River and Alamance Creek with ultra-light gear on my kayak because they only have bullheads and channel cats in them.

There was a lake in Virginia that had so many channel cats in it they were tearing up crank baits spinnerbaits and plastic worms...you could catch 100 on chicken liver in a few hours all of em 2-5 lbs it’s an awesome summertime thing...they stock it with rainbows in the fall and that’s amazing too...it’s right by the new Quantico museum off of Route 1

Many years ago I caught a catfish on a rattle trap while fishing in a Newnans Lake near Gainesville.I catch saltwater cats under popping corks all the time.
A couple years ago a friend and I were fishing the flats out of Steinhatchee when we saw a popping cork with a fish on it that had broken off someones rod. After about 30 mins of chasing it around we finally got it. You guessed it , it had a catfish on it.

I’ve caught a handful of catfish on Texas rigged plastic worms. Always folks me into believing I have a big bass on the line.

Never tried Parmesan with Snapper but love it with Grouper.
