I remember as a kid going with my grandmother to get Brunswick stew at Mrs. Gibson’s off memorial. Not sure I’ve had anything that compares.
Man, I honestly thought I was the only person on earth who had Brunswick Stew. My Grandmother made it a lot and of course my Mom made the same recipe. Never spoken with anyone else who’s had it.

Dude, if that NVGator is the same one I know, he already knows me.
10-4 good buddy.

Nalt!!!:eek3: Long time no see good buddy! I hope all is well! I had my family up on Lake Guntersville just this past weekend! My wife's grandparents live on Keel Mountain in Gurley and her grandfather is an engineer for Boeing. They pulled their RV down to the lake and we met them up there. We get up to Huntsville/Gurley quite a bit.
My grandmother was raised in Gurley. Her mom was the teacher for the tiny school there. Got a picture somewhere off my great grandmother’s horse tied up outside the school.

We would buy a gallon sized glass jar from Mrs. Gibson every time we left Huntsville to drive back to Florida. That was our meal after every road trip. So good.

Sweet! Gurley is a beautiful little place. It's crazy that you have the metropolis if Huntsville and then...boom...five minutes outside of it there's this sleepy little mountain town.

Well...I wouldn't say the town of Gurley is beautiful but the surrounding country definitely is.

I've been doing good Swampy. Just staying busy. I was seeing you on IG I think, or maybe it was another social media besides Facebook (I don't do FB). Next time you're up this way give me a holler. I was down at the lake for several hours last Saturday. I have two yards that I mow on the side that are on the lake. I've caught some really big catfish there this past spring.

That young dude from Sugarland Texas that Law was sweet on?
Curtis? or something?

he was old board

and technically I did not out him. I added Britney the obvious catfish. of course that was obvious when she first showed up and posted a picture wearing a thong.

one of the mods found out the IP address was the same. I had no access to that.

I don't recall Curtis particularly liking me.

Yum!
We had brunswick stew often as a kid but I mainly remember it around south GA. The closest I've seen to it where I live now is called Burgoo. Most places use common meats but a homemade version might call it "roadkill soup."

How've you been Swampy? How's your son doing? Probably in college by now. Wow, time flies!

Doing great CD! Has been a good long while. I miss those old days. My son is doing great! He's actually going into his junior year but looks like a collegian. He's about 6'2", 285 lbs and starting at right OT for Smith's Station High School which is a big 7A school in East Central Alabama. I have a daughter now (adopted my step-daughter) who is also going into her junior year here at Dale County High right outside of Dothan. She's plays volleyball, basketball and softball and excels at each. Both are very good students and great kids but are still typical teenage dumbasses! :headslap:

My middle daughter was good at basketball and softball. She helped take her softball team to their first ever state tourney starting in center field as an 8th grader. She lost her senior year of both sports after she blew her knee out a week before her first basketball game of the season. I tried for years to get her to give up basketball because she always would complain about her knees hurting... If your daughter has a shot at playing SB in college then I would strongly encourage her to drop basketball...

We have tried and tried to get her to drop basketball but basketball is her love. She's more gifted at softball than any of the three but if we forced her she would drop softball. So, we've stopped trying to force the issue. But she still has a junior and senior year to go so, we'll see. She has some serious looks in softball though including UAH.

We can always use OTs.
