The XFL unlike the other league that was being start, was actually in the black (not by much).. honestly wonder if the virus hadn't killed the season how well it would have done long term.

So months ago when everything became racist and fkkk whitey started, I had this discussion with a black (can I say that, I just did) gentleman, and specifically asked if the phrase "in the black" would still be considered acceptable? he informed me he had never heard that phrase and I told him it is common knowledge and that it was a huge positive when discussing business and finances vs. "in the red" which I said we probably could not use anymore. So I hope that the phrase "in the black" will be allowed to stay in the mainstream since it is a positive connotation, but we will have to wait on a ruling from the higher court of that persuasion.

Being Injun hasn't raised alarm over in the red, it's legal.

Spring football will always fail, the USFL came along at a perfect time with ESPN and ABC wanting programming, and even that died in 3 years.

Yes, but for the first time the NFL has made itself vulnerable.

It didn't fail due to it being Spring, they had good tv contracts and after the first year were starting to make a profit, until two new owners broke the agree upon structure and the NFL broke laws to wreck the league (USFL won the case in federal court) to make force networks to not work with the league.

USFL was a great product. Attendance was very good in most markets, ownership was solid in most teams. The uniforms and team name/logos were pretty unique and cool, for the most part. Unfortunately, they got talked into a BS plan by a couple of rouge owners to move to the fall and challenge the NFL. They did win the antitrust suit (I wonder if they still have the NFL's check for $3.00)...The big old NFL was afraid of the USFL even though they claimed they didn't have the quality of play (oddly the NFL scooped up tons of USFL players after the league folded)
