I read somewhere the other day that it would be sometime in July

I wont be surprised if it is July 2023.

They are moving as slowly as possible.

Meanwhile Central Michigan built theirs in 8 months, in the damn tundra.

I mean to not build it after borderline fraud by changing money for the facilities to “phase one”, it would be fraud imo if all the money raised now went anywhere else. Seriously, let a nonrevenue sport go if you have to. If I had to choose, I’d pick women’s basketball as it seems the only program on campus that has never seemed close to being a competitive and stable program.

That would be racist, sexist, etc. Fuchs would reinstate the GatorBait song and perform it in blackface before he would cancel women's basketball. He would cut 10 football scholarships and axe women's soccer and lacrosse because the roster is only privileged white girls

Some may find what you said as “extreme”. I think it is sensible and probably accurate.

The 'some' you speak of lack the ability to discern tongue-in-cheek sarcasm and/or satire, which typically includes an element of truth. To those with a severe sense of humor deficit, I extend my sincerest sympathy.

Just talked with the General Contractor for building the new building going up for football. He said everything is on hold for now as some of the funds for the 70 million facility was coming from gate and concessions. As that is up in the air, so is the start of building.

2030, anyone?

As long as softball, baseball and gymnastics got there's that's all I was ever worried about.

I wasn't aware that facility seated 5,000 people. Or even 3,000+ which is typical for each game during a 3 game weekend series.

Even assuming that is correct, it seems like a brilliant, completely fair, and maximization of economic value to first prioritize and accommodate the 60k Fans per season max at baseball games compared to the 350k per season at football games plus the millions that watch on TV. Glad those friends and families of the baseball players will be comfortable and have plenty of room to easily socially distance of the Rona hangs out through Spring.
