Former Florida State offensive line coach
Greg Frey has flied a lawsuit against Florida State University Athletic Association.
Frey joined the Florida State coaching staff shortly after Willie Taggart was hired in January of 2018. Frey also played for the Seminoles from 1991-1996, where he was a part of the 1993 National Championship team.
Frey is seeking $632,150, plus the expenses for reasonable cell phone use, expenses for obtaining private health insurance, lost retirement benefits, and the value of FSU football tickets – all in an amount to be proven at trial, and all legally allowable pre-and post-judgement interest.
The lawsuit alleges a breach of contract, breach of policies and procedures, and breach of implied-in-fact contract by FSU and the FSUAA, according to the lawsuit document obtained by the
Democrat.
The lawsuit was filed June 30 by attorney David Roberts of Hall, Gilligan, Roberts, & Shanlever LLP. Roberts attended FSU from 1986-1991 and played football for the Seminoles.
