Wasn't sure if I should put this in the FSU Shambles or Recruiting thread....

This is a terrible story.

Rod Orr, 2021 OT, 4-star on 247 and is FSU's best hope of landing a decent OL in this class:

He apparently "accidentally" shot a former teammate of his in the head yesterday. The teammate was to begin his freshman year at UAB (football) and just passed away. Police are still investigating.

Freshman UAB Football player dies from gunshot in Gadsden

GADSDEN, Ala. (WBMA) — A UAB football player was shot Thursday night. He later died from his injuries at UAB Hospital.

According to a statement from UAB, 19-year-old Allen Merrick, who joined UAB's football team this season, was visiting a home in Gadsden when he was shot.

Merrick was taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Gadsden police confirm.

At this point, investigators believe the shooting was an accident.

If we don’t make it to Atlanta would we be barred from playing them after our schedule? If there are no bowls or playoffs? Something to consider anyway

I’m not saying I said this week that there is a better chance of a player dying by gunshot than Covid...

But from what I see from @BMF

COVID: 0 CFB players killed this year (if I missed one let me know)
Gunshot: 1 mentioned in this thread alone.

These kids that want to handle guns should be required to take an NRA sanctioned gun safety course!

Listened to a recent Warchant podcast. They spoke at length about how the players do not trust this staff at all. They blamed it on wiLLLLLLLie. But, if Norvell still hasn’t earned their trust, that says plenty. Will he be gone as quick as slick wiLLLLLLLie?

@Rotoworld_Draft: FSU TE Wilson suffers season-ending leg injury NFL DRAFT: FSU TE Wilson suffers season-ending leg injury

I never like to see an opposing player get hurt and ruin his future NFL chances...

Arrested, suspended for multiple games, "slammed" on Twitter... sure, that's perfectly acceptable.

I even cherish moments like this:

Scouting FSU:

They just had their first scrimmage. The top freshman QB from the 2020 class broke his collar bone. The FSU defense will be very good, several top athletes at several positions, their DL will be among the best in the country. The offense....that's another story.

Here's the 247 rankings of FSU's (current) starting OL:

OT: Darius Washington (So): #502, #38 OT
OG: Dante Lucas (So): #167, #9 OG
C: Baveon Johnson (Sr): #43, #1 C
OG: Brady Scott (Jr): #1055, #94
OT: Dontae Love-Taylor (Sr, grad transfer from FIU): #2695, #123 SDE

Lucas & Johnson are legit, any P5 type players. Love-Taylor has a lot of starting experience at FIU.
