Ugh, I forgot about the Pac-12 players pulling that crap. It's very typical of youth today, they want, want and want without thinking about where it's coming from.

If a player wants to sit out then remove them from team meals, team physical therapy, team meds and supplements, team swag hand-outs, team facilities in general and pull back that stipend they were given, maybe remove that scholarship and charge them for books, classes, etc.

Oh, and if they want to cancel the season and not play then where in Hades is all this money going to come from that pays them their stipend and all the other things I've already listed? They really do NOT think through this process very well and are only concerned for how it directly affects them today. Me, me, me, me. They sound like their running scales in preparations for the opera.
The PAC 12 should start with the revenue sharing this season, which would equate to a huge bill for each player.

I understand if you want to sit out because of the virus. Not saying I agree or don’t, but a player should have the right to sit out if he doesn’t feel safe.

To sit out because you want to get paid, when you signed up knowing you wouldn’t, is a breach of contract.

Yeah I'm not all, "kick em out if they sit" because as alumni said, some may be sitting for concern of the virus. Personally I think it's a huge nothing burger for anyone other than old and those in poor health, but that is my opinion and not much better than anyone elses, despite the fact that some ppls opinions are formed on absolutely nothing factual.

But aside from medical concerns, if you sit, you should be booted. The issue is how to institute that policy and separate those sitting for legitimate reasons vs what these clowns are doing. You really can't bc everyone would just claim medical. Of course, if you claim medical then we shouldn't be seeing any BLM or $$$ comments coming from you either so maybe it would be worth pursuing.

Copeland doesn’t know WTF he believes in. First he chimes in with the PAC 12 guys about not playing until their list of demands are met, then he chimes in with the #wewanttoplay crowd lead by the gal from Clemson.

Which one is it, dumbass?

Good for them. They can take that great 'college education' they 'earned' and go get a job like the rest of us. Oh ... wait ... football was about the only college education most of these morons are getting. The majority of them aren't taking the classes that most of their non athletic students are and yet they are getting way more help to pass those classes. Im getting to the point where I don't like college football anymore. They act like entitled primadonnas in high school through the recruiting process before even showing up on campus. Maybe they should just go ahead and pay them, kick them out of the real school and just call it an NFL major. Let the university exploit them and their likeness to the fullest then throw them out after 4 years with no real college degree.

And for the covid excuse users ... wtf evers. Your choice to do what you want to do but with every choice comes consequences.

I'm at that point too. Most of these kids won't play in the NFL. But very few want to get that degree or value college education. So just pay them a small amount and let them major in "going to the NFL." For those who make it, cool. For everyone else, oh freaking well. Enjoy the pump gas job.

Strict COVID tests should be taken of players not attending CFB (Big 10) and those who are playing (SEC). It's possible that the regimen of organized precautions in football will yield less COVID cases than players staying at home? roaming about? breaking training? no University top-notch medical caretakers.? Remember, CFB-players are not the solitary quarantine types. They are restless. They hate to miss a party. Will some gather at protests? Being out of football guarantees nothing, no kind of immunity.

The idea that these premier young athletes are in some kind of serious danger from COVID-19 is absolutely laughable. There are better odds of them being killed by lightning. Those choosing to sit for this reason should be run out of football on a rail.

How long this lunacy will go on is anyone's guess. If you don't want to play, fine - give up your scholarship to someone who does.

They'd be out of luck, as they'd need to travel back to the 1970s to get a job like this. Didn't Lane Kiffen use this cut on Alshon Jeffery when he chose another team over Tennessee?

Kiffen: "If you go there, you'll end up pumping gas for the rest of your life. "

Jeffery: "Is that outdated euphemism a plus or a minus over playing for you?

What lingering side effects? Is there any evidence of ANYTHING like that? Sitting out the season due to fear of the sniffles is going to make NFL teams want you?

Good God, are we a bunch of pansies in this country.

I see your point as it may be unknown, but wouldn’t those same teams pass on one or more of the infinite possibilities that have been associated with playing, like multiple ACL or some other skeletal damage? I have a hard time understanding why such a fear of the unknown when we are already parking ambulances outside the stadium long before this.
