If they cut sports they'll be men's sports like men's tennis, men's swimming, men's cross country and men's golf. The women's sports are safe for political and Title IX reasons. Yaaaay!

Actually I believe they will cut an equal amount of men’s and women’s scholarships since the balance of scholarships is how title nine is monitored.

So they would approach it more like cutting both men’s and women’s track or both men’s and women’s swimming so they stay in compliance

Although I attended gator baseball games regularly I had to laugh at your comment since the irony is so obvious

Part of me will laugh if UF cuts sports since it will force the administration to make the kind of decisions that businesses make every day. All these pseudo business people running athletic departments have absolutely no experience dealing in reality and it would be fun to watch the suffering

I'm not sure about that. As it is there already are 12 women's sports and 9 men's sports. I'm pretty sure Tittle IX has to do with money spent. They'll just redistribute where the money is spent and keep the women's sports for politically correct reasons. That seems to be at the forefront of most of the decision making at UF these days. o_O

How about putting the pinch on that Benny Hill Griffin clan?
They can afford it. Tell them that if they don't pony up $20 or $30 mill
we're going to scrape their name off the side of the building.
And what ever happened to all that extra money that was suppose to come
from that SEC Network thing? I see a round of pay cuts similar to those
handed out by that School Out West. Time to tighten the old belt!

So if we are $50 mill in the hole, FSU is bankrupt, no fans in the seats, had to pay off Willie's contract, etc.? So with that in mind, why can't we just get the money from the State gov.

Actually we are both correct

The core metric for title nine is “proportionality” and is tied to the percentage of male and female students enrolled

The amount of money spent is evaluated (as you mentioned) but logic says that the key driver to proportional spending is the number of scholarships (which was my point).

If UF cuts only men’s sports, which is very possible, it won’t be because of title nine it would be pure politics

Id cut all the sports that arent attended by anyone but teams' mothers or girlfriends.

Those are just club sports. They dont need free rides anyway.

We only have those silly sports so we can rack up points for our yearly second place finish to Stanford.

Got my letter yesterday from Gator Boosters. They are strongly encouraging people off the top to donate their 2020 season football ticket and contribution balance to Gator Boosters. They still haven't figured out what's going to be happening this season.

You have other options of redeeming your balance for "one of a kind" items and experiences like watching a game with the HBC, deep sea fishing with Mike White or video chatting with Dan Mullen. You can also roll this season over for next season or request a refund of your 2020 balance. But if you request ANY of these options now you're obviously not going to be going to any games this year.

Imma' wait it out and see what happens.

I would consider letting them keep my contribution if they promise NOT to make me go deep sea fishing with Mike White.
