when an organization makes another rule to fix a problem that never existed
While I think much of your post is filled with the same partisan nonsense as QC, this point is absolutely right on. If you don’t care enough to figure out how to vote in this country - where it is very easy - then you don’t want to vote.
Having the NCAA declare a day of no practice is an obviously pandering move to suggest its more necessary to vote in a national election this year than ever before. Forget that the alleged police violence is local and the presidential election is irrelevant for such items. Let’s pander and fish for fraudulent “good press”. Many on here disagree on the biggest issue facing the NCAA - full Amateurism versus name and likeness rights. But the NCAA can hide a real debatable issue by offering something wholly unnecessary- no practice so athletes can vote.
That this is applauded by anyone as “social justice” is just insulting to everyone who cared enough to vote in the last 40 years regardless of skin color. The right to vote and have truly free elections for all classes and races is still very historically rare and an incredibly powerful right so many just ignore - including many of the most vocal SJWs. Kap himself, SJW martyr #1 didn’t bother to vote against Trump -
49ers QB Colin Kaepernick explains why he didn't vote - CNN
His rationale - because “the oppressor isn't going to allow you to vote your way out of your oppression”
EXCEPT THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT OUR SYSTEM ALLOWS AND YOU CHOSE NOT TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BY NOT VOTING.
Back to topic, I‘m so glad the NCAA cured one of the most free election systems the world has ever seen (In it’s current state) by cancelling sports practices. I‘ve felt for years that too much sweat has been holding back our electorate.
