Not sure where you got your figures but the fact is Miami had a 5-yr. average attendance of 55,760
& the Gators 5 year average was 86,559 which is understandable based on Miami's undergrad enrollment of around 12,000 vs. UF's enrollment in the 40,000's. For confirmation, see below. Plus, after seeing our new kicker last nite, it appears we are in field goal range anytime we cross the 50 yard line and can perhaps win some games based on field goals alone. He routinely kicks 50 yard plus field goals. Attendance Rankings No. 1-130: 2019 CFN Five-Year Program Analysis

Ftr, all attendance numbers are arbitrary and skewed, including many of our own “sell outs”.

But there hasn’t been 55k people in that stadium outside of once or twice a year(fsu, ND, VT) in decades. There is zero chance that’s the actual average. For every game with 15-20k people(which there are) how many packed house moments would they need to get up to that average. Come on, you have eyes.

I think miami is obviously the largest beneficiary of fsu’s decline. We did a terrible job letting them play us close last year, and then losing a few recruiting battles in the offseason. .
Ole Disco Dan is doing his thing and looking at jucos and transfers.

Nope Donkey, not senile YET! Ok, guess you guys also don't believe the attendance figure of 86,559
by the Gators either??? Last game I attended in Miami was Duke in 2018 which was a homecoming game and the Miami Herald reported an attendance of 62,954. As I SAW this while in the stadium vs. on TV, I was surprised at the number in attendance.

If any of you have attended a game @ Hard Rock other than a UF, ND or FSU game, please raise your hand & give testimony as to what you felt the attendance was. Many people hang out in the Wine Bar, Beer Garden & food areas vs. their stadium seats. Right now I feel Miami is the 3rd best team in the state with UCF 2nd and UF 1st but I feel we will be #2 by the end of the season.

Lately? Hell no. You can see 1/3 of the stadium has been empty since 2013.

That being said, any fool can see this isnt 55k.

Hardrock holds just shy of 65k people. This was a picture of that game which was highly contested throughout. Do you really think it was 3k shy of max capacity?

Btw, I tend to agree with you on your rankings assessment, both now and at season’s end. My post wasn’t actually a dig at you or the canes. And to your first question, yes. I actually said as much. All places skew their numbers. The difference is we move things around slightly to look better than we actually are. You guys go all Arthur Anderson with it.

I thought King was impressive. Is Louisville any good? Time will tell. I think the verdict is still out on U.M. but they look to be much improved over last year's team.
Hope they beat the living chit out of Half Ass U. Sat.

My boss attended the scUM - VT game last year and was amazed at the difference between people being in the stadium vs. people in their seats. He said it was like attending a huge party where there’s some boys out back playing football. As a native Texan who played D1 ball in his home state, he found it very odd and even somewhat disturbing.

I think we would all agree that Miami has a different culture. The average Miami fan looks upon the game as a big party event which is less expensive than a myriad of other venues available. Most fans including the Gators look at it as a game of skill competition which I agree with.
Oh well, regardless, guess it is a good thing that attendance doesn't actually play on the field and in Miami's case, has had little affect one way or the other or we would not have ended up with 5 NC's.
A good team can pump themselves up vs. relying on their fans to do so. Coach Jimmy Johnson was a psychology major with a Mensa Society IQ who literally put the notion in the player's head that they were the very best & they bought into it and the more fans booed them, the better they became. Sometimes it boils down to being a mind game along with physical skills.
