It’s healthy to have a little tension between the AD and head coach, to avoid always assuming all’s hunky dory. And then there’s us. We’re college football’s answer to All in the Family. Stricklin probably sends chocolates after a game like today’s.

It seems so brash because of what we’ve become accustomed to. But we’ve seemingly forgotten that life is about performance. If you want stability, go teach third grade public school. This is about winning. I’ve worked at mid level firms and walked in every day knowing that my performance that day was the determining factor in whether I got tomorrow. That’s how it should be. If you can’t win, get out.

Well just to be fair and it is not just Dumbo, Cousin Eddie, et al that can't mange a game for shyt, Dabo Swinney just did one of the dumbest things he could have possibly done given the circumstances. Up 18 with ball, 3 seconds left in the 1st half, 4th down and scrotUM having done ZILCH on offense all game, decides to try a 60+ yd FG on the last play of the 1st half. Blocked returned for TD by scrotUM. I was laughing before the kick. Why would you not just let Lawrence throw it to the end zone? he can easily throw it 50 yards. maybe you get lucky or at worst it is INT or incomplete and you are still up 18. Even if you make a long kick you are still up the same 3 scores? Forget that it was a disaster. The result was not the disaster, the decision was. Game management is just a joke.

Pay per win should be the new standard for all sports.

My job was totally based on performance

You get the job done well, you get to stay

If you don’t, your friends at work will miss you

I wonder which coaches and players would be missed

I have no problem them pulling Lawerence for a play that didn't matter. They are playing for an NC, for a play that will probably go no where don't give a chance for some third string linebacker to key off of on him and potentially lose him for the season. The field goal try who knows decision, unless he was hitting them in pre-game and Dabo thought why the hell not. I'm not the biggest Dabo fan, but he has built an impressive support staff of assistants. So unlike what we have seen the last decade, he gets the benefit of the doubt. Remember even the Great Urban Meyer let LSU run a fake field goal on us, when everyone in the nation knew it was going to happen except his staff.
