We’re too one dimensional & reliant on Kyle to Kyle. Take away the pass to the TE and what happens to our production? With that being said, once we got the ball back tied at 38, there’s no excuse for us to lose the game.

I agree but play some D and you wont be in that situation.

Really? He wont fire 3rd and Grantham so why do you want him so bad? They were 12 out of 15 in conversions. He sucks. Teams should be able to walk into the endzone as bad as he is.

Name the replacement that’s better and affordable.

All Dan needs is a competent DC. If he doesn’t fire the dwag by the end of the season then I’ll change my viewpoint. I’d prefer he fire him now & promote from within to handle the remainder of the season, but I highly doubt that’ll happen.

If we go dc hunting with 1.8 mil to shoot at them, we’d most likely bag a keeper IMO.

This is what my beer stash looked like yesterday about this time. I just had to replenish it.
Thanks Grantham!

Enjoying a few Mullen-Grantham beers. Very light with almost no finish. Fortunately it’s a limited release.

The passes to the backs and Toney were productive. The other receivers can’t understand why they aren’t open like they are in practice

Say what you will, but we were in a tie game with 3 minutes to go with the ball at the 50. The RB fumbled. We lose. If we game 5 yards. we kick a FG as the time expires to win the game.

Davis lost this game.

The real point of this discussion is that it never should’ve been necessary to drive down for a winning FG at all.

I also agree and wish we could run the ball a little more stealthily, but we are able to get enough yards and points. The Kyle to Kyle thing is slowing down and I made a mental note that Trask is often times very fortunate. The INT that was nullified was just a dumb choice, even had he been on his front foot. Triple coverage? Very lucky there. The first TD pass to Pitts would have been intercepted by the off CB had he been competent. he saw the play left his man but did not go for the ball. The spacing between the 2 receivers was bad and if that was Bama or UGA it is picked. The long, throwback across the field attempt to Pitts would have been picked by a real D. Davis was right in front of him and he could have underhanded it to Davis for a walk in TD or Trask could have run it himself for a TD probably. Trask is a little slow processing and a little lacking in pocket awareness. But I am already seeing in Pitts what I used to say about Aaron Hernandez. They do not use Pitts enough as a decoy is combo routes. Cousin Eddie's simplistic offense does not utilize true combo routes to confuse the secondary. Pitts roaming the intermediate middle of the field on occasion in a combo route would do wonders for some other guys.

We’d be better off letting our players just line it up and play sandlot football...couldn’t be any worse

Grantham is one of the too DC pay wise in NCAA, last year his pay was higher than 75% of NFL DCs. Pay isn't the issue.

Next year, no Miller, no Stewart, no Davis, no Cambpell, no Slaton. Beyond Dexter, we’re 240 across the board, playing low scoring football.

I understand, but still want to know WHO is out there better to replace him? Nobody, that’s who.

He’s got the right OC, no doubt. Hell, even everyone of us bytching in the past about so few downfield throws we had has to be happy with the results of our offensive scheme now. Could we run the ball better? Hell yes. But at least we can move the rock effectively now, and many times in large chunks.

He has to find the right guy for the dc spot because it sure as hell isn’t the dwagasshole.

... a competent DC and at least 2 more recruiting cycles to bring in some D1 sized talent. I'm afraid Grantham may have set us back several years on the D side. I honestly don't see a bright spot anywhere.

Dan may have dug his own grave.

But... it's possible to pull in CC players on D that can contribute. That and the portal. They better be on it. Three games in a row of complete trash on the D side. Not a single gamechanger on the field. Not one. When is the last time you can remember that?

The offense is finally fun to watch and we go all ACC on the D side.:bananaburn:

My only problem with this argument is we have known for three years that we didn't have the right guy. We have known for three recruiting cycles we have failed in recruiting the talent needed. It's no longer on the coordinator or position coach, it's on the head coach.
