The problem for Kiper is the younger scouts are doing a better job then him now.... but until the Big 10 and Pac 12 start playing and Trask starts consistently hitting those 18 yard outs... this is just him still trying to be relevant.
Did you say Mel Kiper?

"Who in the hell is Mel Kiper anyway?" asks Tobin. "Here's a guy that criticizes everybody, whoever they take. He's got the answers to who you should take and who you shouldn't take. And my knowledge of him: he's never ever put on a jock strap, he's never been a coach, he's never been a scout, he's been an administrator and all of a sudden he's an expert."

Obviously most of us feel he is much higher than #48...... but subjective list don't mean anything..... Thanks for posting and try to ignore our group of KIA's.

Keep posting, we need fresh ideas..

I would say all talent assessment is subjective. Look to see who is accurate, read them more, read the rest less...

I am not going to defend Kiper. But Tobin to dis Kiper because he "never ever put on a jock strap, he's never been a coach, he's never been a scout, " is just dumb.

He leaves the impression that you have to have done that in order for your opinion to matter. Mike Leach never did any of that stuff. In fact, he was going to be a damn lawyer and I guess changed his mind. I don't think anyone would dog his knowledge of football.

Can someone please explain how Kiper and McShay have the SD State QB ahead of Trask? Their stats are very similiar, But one played for a powerhouse 1AA team and the other played against SEC defenses.

Have you seen teh SEC Defenses we have played? I don't know if that helps trask out.

Really? Last year, he threw for 300 yards against the best SEC defenses.

FYI - you have to look at last year because the SD State kid played one game this year and did not look good. He will be the next Love (Packers new QB).

Elite physical tools and good decision maker. Trask’s arm strength will likely keep him out of the first round. By the way, I wouldn’t touch Trey Lance. But, the scouts love him.

I don't think either is a first round talent, both will end up in the league. But last year had more NFL ready QB talent.

Vandy was LSU were the top SEC defenses last year? Really? That is the argument you are going with?

I just love that his name is being thrown around for the NFL at all. The kid deserves it.

Kid is smart and have a capable arm, probably be a career back up for a decade that is some really serious cash.

Brady & Montana also had weak arms.

TLDR QB knocked for having good coaching and players around him.
