With the majority of the accolades going to the two Kyles (and rightfully so), can we take a moment to acknowledge how brilliant he has been this year? His transformation into a complete receiver has been nothing short of miraculous. He is going to be drafted on his playmaking ability alone, but teams have to be impressed by his improved route running, consistent tackle breaking, and overall versatility to line up and be effective playing multiple positions. I would love to have a weapon like him at my disposal as an OC. I applaud this young man for putting the work in on and off the field to hone in on his craft; it speaks to his work ethic and intelligence. We should enjoy his talent while he's in a Gator uniform. We'll still have playmakers, but he will be missed next year!

It is amazing. He has become extremely tough to tackle one on one. The guy last night kept comparing him to Percy. I hope he makes a lot of money in the NFL and keeps his knees and body healthy from now till he gives it up.

So far, it looks like a sound business decision to come back this year.

He’s not Percy but once he learned to apply his ankle-breaking moves in pass routes he became almost un-coverable.

NFL teams will see him in the Tyrique Hill mold or like Darren Sproles. He may not have the top end speed of Hill but he’s amazing.

Simply an amazing performance last night. Watch him for the last 6 games and maybe more. True talent and he has put in the work to be more complete.

How slippery is Toney?

Ask 8 who had Toney pinned to the sideline and ends up missing so bad that he ends up 3 plus yards out of bounds and Toney ends up in the endzone.

Tony is a combo of Brandon James and Chris Rainey. He's nothing like Harvin.

Glad he came back and I hope he succeeds in the NFL. Hope he graduates too.

He put on a clinic last night. Houdini.

Brandon James was terrible at anything except punt/kick returns.

I hate when people compare him to Percy. He's nothing like Percy. Percy was great at sticking a foot in the ground and getting upfield and hitting his top speed incredibly quick. Toney doesn't have elite break-away speed, but he's shifty and has great balance. Totally different style runners with the ball in their hands. That said, I'm really proud of KT putting in the work to become a more complete player so he can finally put that God given talent to use.

I think you nailed it

He can stop on a dime like James and he has wiggle like Rainey
He also lacks top end speed like Rainey

Percy was the fastest guy on the field.

Toney may be the slowest skilled player we have, but there are only a handful of people that could tackle him inside a phone booth. He has more moves than Barry Sanders without Barry's speed.

Truly unique player. Crazy moves.

True. But, imo, he and Tony have similar stop, dart, stop, bounce moves. James could only do it during returns, but he excelled at returns. Tony is not as much of a threat as Brandon was in the return game. But Tony also has ankle breaking, contortionist ability to will his body to move just like Mr. Prepare to Die had. That combo of talents makes him special.

Nothing like Percy. Percy was fastest first step ever, acceleration, power and lightning top end speed.

In the first week’s game thread, that was my observation as well. He is by far the most improved player on offense and took his critiquing well by becoming a well rounded WR. Even some of his catches look so much more fluid and correct than they did in previous years.

But I do agree with law here that he’s really not James like at all. BJ was elusive mainly because of his speed and vision. He could see a lane in returns and would just go. Toney’s not Percy, no one is. But I think he’s closer to that mold and ultimately a more polished Rainey. His strength this year and ability to negate trouble have been awesome to watch. I wasn’t his biggest fan before the year, but am now and hope he goes far.

me

There is no oneToney reminds me of more than Willie Galimore the former Florida A & M and Chicago Bears legend. They called him "Willie the Wisp" because one second he was there, no there, then gone. Toney and Galimore were about the same size. When you listen to some of the former NFL greats describing Galimore they could just as well be describing Toney. Have to disagree somewhat with Bill Wade[s description. Not the fastest but the quickest and the most elusive.
