I said this in another thread, but this whole game revolves around being able to stop, or at least seriously slow down, the UGay running game.

UGay defense showed in the Bama game that they can be beaten deep, and now they’re without their two starting safeties, which should play into our favor and even more.

Bazelak is a better qb than Bennett, in my opinion, and we did a decent job against him, finally creating some pressure.

At least their offense is mediocre at best. Put 7-8 in the box and make Stetson beat us.

This is what we did against Fromm last year and we made him look like Joe Montana when he looked like crap against everyone else. We did slow down their run game last year, but they killed us on 3rd down. I don't know what the answer is , but I have little confidence that Grantham does either. Maybe we get lucky and Ugay just turns it over 4 times to us.

What will be the limit on crowd size? Since the game is not on either the Florida or Georgia campuses then the universities cannot impose their limits on the crowd size. Is that right? Will the right to limit crowd size be given to the home team? I guess the city of Jacksonville can place its own restrictions on crowd capacity. Since Governor Ron Desantis has opened up stadiums in the state to full capacity then what is there to prevent, other than the city of Jacksonville, full capacity for this game?

I don’t disagree on last year. But I do think Fromm was a perfect fit for them and, despite not being great himself, is considerably better than Bennett. I think if, big if, we can slow the running game down and force the game into his hands, we can win. The other difference from last year is that we were still getting ourselves out of the 21-24 points per game mindset and effort that we had for so long. So they could stay on schedule the whole time. In contrast, if you watch the Alabama game, the moment they were in a score-for-score game, he crumbled. Even Corrall had handled that moment much better a week earlier.

So it really comes down to our offense more than anything else. If we can score and move the ball effectively throughout, it will force Smart out of his comfort zone, which is never good for them(Aub ‘17, second half of NC game, 4th and 11, etc). That’s the key. They’re going to move the ball on us, particularly on the ground and on that wheel route to Cook they like. The question will be are they playing with a constant lead or are we scoring ourselves? That’s how you beat that Smart/Saban approach.

It's about 17,000 with UF getting about 8,500 and UGA about 8,800 if I remember right. Saw somewhere the "home" team gets a few hundred more.

So let’s see. That’s 4000 dbags in garbage red pants and bangs, 3000 sluts in black dresses destroyed on Crown and Miller Lite, 1000 old men with that horrendously awful 80’s cursive uga hat talking about Vince Dooley, and 800 or so Jax natives who switched from uga to fsu in the 90’s and are now back.

Did I get that about right?

They need to have a bad hair day and we need to have a good hair day. It happens all the time in college ball. It could happen Saturday.
Mullens program needs a signature win.
