I watched some Finebaum yesterday and had a good laugh. The callers were hilarious. Reminded me of how much Spurrier got under all the other fan bases skin. The salty butthurt coming in from the phone lines were very enjoyable to hear. Finebaum himself mostly took the middle ground when he could but he did continue to imply that had the referee made the obvious call then none of what happened would have happened.

And why is it that every Florida fan that calls in to that show is a complete moron?
C'mon, Lance is an extremely intelligent individual. He may even post here as Swamp Donkey.

No one saying it wasn't a penalty, but weither it's a late hit which is blantant and obvious or targetting.

The officiating in the SEC has always been some combination of incompetence, bias, wild inconsistency, or the naked exercise of power by the big boys in B'ham in the service of achieving what they consider to be the desired outcome between the "haves" and "have nots." A "fair," consistent, reliable application of the rules and reasonable standards of conduct for the refs, coaches and players, has not and never will be a reality in the SEC. To put things in perspective, GA Tech left the conference back in the early sixties because they got fed up with always coming up on the short end of the stick on anything pertaining to Bama - specifically, the blatant favoritism shown toward them on the field and in the front office. Same as it always was.

Especially the part where you hit someone in the head that wearing a helmet. Come on big guy go for a shot to the balls next time.
Agree. Also, if you are gonna throw, don't throw a punch and then run behind your teammates. You're wearing a helmet, you ain't getting KO'd.

I always thought it was the epitome of stupid to punch someone with a helmet on. If your gonna throw down, hit them with an uppercut on the chin, punch them in the stomach, kick'em in the balls... Anything other than a side-armed swing at a helmet that you're more likely to break your hand than inflict any real damage...
