Bombing, not for everybody but for enough, will kill the game sooner or later.

What I love about GatorChatter is there's even a place to argue about golf. Life is good.

Harry Heilmann isn't leading the league with 16 home runs anymore. Guys throw 102. We don't constantly have to solve "problems" created by better-skilled players. Yeah, MLB uses wood bats... that's an necessity for safety. But I don't want to watch Rory and Bryson hitting it 260 because they're hitting niblicks and featheries.

I love watching these guys hit it 370 and leave themselves with an awkward 40 yard pitch over a trap to the short side, while another guy puts it out there 290 with a comfortable sand wedge in. There's often not that much advantage to the length anyway, and the decisions are fun to watch unfold.

How do I like and facepalm this at the same time. ;)

Nothing wrong with just dialing back the distance a notch. Nicklaus has been a big proponent of going to a standard ball for decades. Pretty weird that in football you get penalized if the air pressure in the ball is 1psi out of spec but in golf you can use all kinds of different balls.

The Masters is always such a great event, but this year will really be interesting. Augusta National in the fall, no fans (or should I say "patrons"), Tiger's title defense, and how will Bryson DeChambeau fare? I'm excited.

Yep....and hopefully we get to do it all again in April--just 5 months away. With patrons & all the 'normal' traditions that entails.

I like Bryson too...he’s kind of a dooche but I like that he’s pushing the boundaries and trying to do things differently than just the normal golfer

what the holy hell is this sorcery?

Ehh, obviously photoshopped. They had a guy on the green just outside the camera’s view rolling balls at the cup till one went in.

I’ve seen stuff like that for years in movies, be it crazy golf shots, basketball shots & what have you. Suffice to say, I’m not impressed.

Bryson falling apart early on the 13th. Hits into the trees, then over the green into the bushes behind the green, rehits and ends up in the water. Finds his ball in the bushes and takes unplayable lie, then chunks his chip short. Brutal...

And yet he still finishes 2 under.

Tiger really looked more in command of his game than I’ve seen in quite a while. Bogey-free 4 under and could have been better. Can he keep it going?
