I don't think he was drunk. It seemed like he was trying to force his way through it to me kinda like when you're sick but have to go to work...

I could see that, but usually your thought and speech pattern don't deteriorate that bad. And if they were that bad, others should have noticed before putting him on the air. This is especially true when we have ESPN on so many Covid protocols like they are. If they even got a hint he was sick, I don't know why they wouldn't have sent him home.

That’s Law postgame.

No way. Law drinks in a bar.

This is my go to for Donk:

True but the flu and such come on gradually.....a bad case of the s h!ts(stomach flu or such) can hit you right in the middle of something and that's the worst....

I ran the video at least five times. No slurring, no tripping over words. It doesn’t come across at all as under the influence. Most people are going to look a little rough standing outside on a raw fall morning on the Chicago lakefront and McShay could be battling a bug, but I doubt it’s anything more.

Really though, I didn't think it was that bad. Not Joe Namath bad.

No slurring? He's hitting that "s" a lot harder than he normally does and definitely has a stammer he doesn't have. And this game was mid-afternoon so I'm not sure what morning game you think it is. Could be sick, but that is in no way the Todd McShay that we've grown accustomed to. The way he formulates his thoughts and presents them reminds me of plenty of people I've been around when drunk...or the DUI videos I watch weekly. Hard to tell.

In fairness, 78 was drunk when listening.

It was a 12.00 game, right? I doubt he or anyone else would get hammered that early. He clearly had some medical issues not too long ago....I'm betting he missed breakfast and ate some bad stadium food that just happened to hit his lower tract about that time...he might have even s h!t himself which would be a good reason to send him home....

We’ve all seen the now-famous “Nadler Shuffle”. That wasn’t the case here.

The recent medical issues may be the actual problem. I know of at least two people whose pill issues started there. In all honesty, that’s what it looked like. Hope not. Wouldn’t wish that on anyone, and it’s a legit concern everyone should have in today’s medical climate.

If in fact the guy does have a drinking problem, then hell yeah he’d be hammered by 12 noon. Been many Fl/UGAY games I was hammered by noon.
