Took a couple of my grandkids over to Titusville to watch the launch. Here is a little video. Excuse the focus guess the focus tends to go in and out when you shoot these things with a cell phone.

No from US-1 about 1/4 mile north of HWY 50. I screwed up my knee last night. Didn't know there was a 3ft drop off from the bank down to the river. I walked right off that bank in the dark, surprise, surprise.

I was watching the Arianespace Vega launch, the announcers were so passively aggressive in talking about how they take a back seat to no one, their rockets can launch any payload... then the news comes that telemetry has been temporarily lost. Their demeanor changed so quickly..... then the announcement that the Mission had been lost. Crash, boom and burn! Classic come down.... I'm not celebrating the failure but it was funny for me to watch, French people, they are so pompous, so full of envy!

Okey dokey.
So I optimistically predicted a flight by Halloween. Here it is December. Hmph. The flight attempt for today was called off and now we're looking at Monday.

In related news: The Boeing Bondoggle aka SLS faces even more delays. SLS was suppose to static fire early this year but that got pushed to Thanksgiving because of the fake pandemic. Then a week before the test it was announced that there was a failure in a power unit in Orion and it wold have to be replaced. However the power unit is buried so deep that they have to disassemble Orion. Boeing estimated a year delay.

Component failure in NASA’s deep-space crew capsule could take months to fix

"Replacing the PDU isn’t easy. The component is difficult to reach: it’s located inside an adapter that connects Orion to its service module — a cylindrical trunk that provides support, propulsion, and power for the capsule during its trip through space. To get to the PDU, Lockheed Martin could remove the Orion crew capsule from its service module, but it’s a lengthy process that could take up to a year. As many as nine months would be needed to take the vehicle apart and put it back together again, in addition to three months for subsequent testing, according to the presentation.

Lockheed has another option, but it’s never been done before and may carry extra risks, Lockheed Martin engineers acknowledge in their presentation. To do it, engineers would have to tunnel through the adapter’s exterior by removing some of the outer panels of the adapter to get to the PDU. The panels weren’t designed to be removed this way, but this scenario may only take up to four months to complete if engineers figure out a way to do it.

A third option is that Lockheed Martin and NASA could fly the Orion capsule as is. The PDU failed in such a way that it lost redundancy within the unit, so it can still function. But at a risk-averse agency like NASA, flying a vehicle without a backup plan is not exactly an attractive option. It’s still not clear what went wrong inside the unit, which was tested before it was installed on the spacecraft, according to a person familiar with the matter."

Everything about the Orion program has turned into a very expensive joke.

Road has been closed, which is the first step in launching. Watch history happen.

Make your bets:
1) Clears the launch pad
2) Achieves apogee
3) Controlled belly flop descent
4) Executes a Crazy Elon
5) Lands in one piece

I forgot abort was an option. Try again tomorrow. Pro tip: Although window opens at 8am nothing rarely happens until after noon.

6. Lands in many pieces.
7. Lands on land.
8. Lands in water.

I'm going for 1, 2, 3, 6, 8

6) You think it might be pretty cool, so you click on Threat's link, then sit FOR A FUKKIN HOUR where first, the feed craps out, then, the cardboard tube wrapped in tin foil craps out at the last second and all you got to see really was a tiny white box in the distance. PS Feed 4 was way better!

FIFY... you forgot "Option 6"
