I’m shocked that I’m on an island with this take. I know most people will fear Bama because of the brand and mystique, but this isn’t yesteryears Alabama. And we’re not yesteryears Gators. Maybe I’m missing something but I’m not seeing where all the Bama love is coming from around here. Seems surreal that I’m trying to convince a Gator message board that we have a chance to win. A damn good chance.

A lot of indicators point to it being a competitive game. The problem is, most Gator fans have been watching the games this year and see our offense sputter at times, while bama's offense never seems to sputter. My fear is we shoot ourselves in the foot one or two times and that's all bama needs to win because our defense ain't stopping bama more than once. UF vs LSU 2019 all over again imo.

We wouldn’t lose by 4tds with a bad game. We’re not a risk for getting blown out. Chances are higher that we win than for us getting blown out.

I’m confused. Am I watching different games? Look, there’s one thing we can count on this team to do and that’s score points. Any loss this team suffers will come in a shootout. Now the defense is totally capable of giving up more points than we can score. But no one, Bama included, is going to stop this offense.

Did you get the chance to see our 1st half against KY? If not for a badly blown punt by the UK punter, kicking away from where the coverage was going, we likely end up going into halftime down 10-7. There was no “shootout” in the first half, we only scored once.

I’m generally an optimist, but given that Bama is the best defense we will face, I could see our offensive part of the game going more similarly to our 1st half vs KY, and given our penchant for coverage breakdowns, a decent QB will pick us apart. Mac Jones is well above “decent”.

That said, if our O-Line can give Trask time to throw, we should be able to keep up and have a chance to win. If Delance is getting beaten on almost every play, it will be a long day for the good guys.

Or the first half against Vandy, the back to back turnovers against USCe, slow start against UGA, etc these slow starts in the have been all season.

What does the first half have to do with anything? My point isn’t based on the first half. We scored 34 and was on the 1 yard line with backups.

I think some of you just like to disagree. There’s no defense for this offense. That Pitts guy is a problem, you know. Georgia has a good day defense and we made them look pathetic until the coaches started screwing up the play calling. Could some of you actually watch a full Bama game then get back to me?

Did you happen to notice that they are undefeated, #1 in the nation, have TWO Heisman candidates and have obliterated everyone they have played?

Let's not act like this is just an above-average team.

The game should have been 45-10. We softballed a drive on Mac's long field and of course there at the end. STILL Bama is a whole different animal than anyone we have played or will.

After watching the defensive breakdowns by that guy im convinced that we have a shot at real improvement on the defense with some minor adjustments. My hope is Grantham will be forced to make those adjustments now. Of course I could be delusional. As far as the offense goes i believe if Trask is on Noone can stop us. It worries me a little seeing trask going up and down. making mistakes in a game, cleaning up those mistakes in the next then reverting back. But when Trask is on we are ABSOLUTELY UNSTOPPABLE. Alabama is the only team that has a shot beating us this year including a@m if we somehow end up playing them again. Fukc Ohio state, fukc jawga, fukc clumpsen, the dames and the rest of them. If we are on we win period.

Against a bad Kentucky team missing 16 starters... ok, the point is again what?

There is a difference between being down against the jabornies we have been down against UGA (with no qb), Kentucky, Vanderbilt, USCe, etc.... if we get down against Bama, we will be down. This isn't a team that is going to trip over itself like our other opponents have done. I know we were told how they are offensive juggernauts (Vandy couldn't even get into field goal range against Missouri). Now when we are rolling we are rolling, and there is no player in College football who matches up to Pitts. The slow starts and schitty second half drives, hasn't been about the players (except for our lines) it's been about play-calling.

Judging by your last statement, you assume you are the only one who watches full bama games..... wake up.

Look some of you honestly believe that Trask is mentally and emotionally impacted if he is subbed for a single snap when EJ comes in.

Yet you look right past our time of possession in the first half against Kentucky.

6:37. Yep that’s it. Talk about losing momentum or rhythm. We adjusted. He adjusted. Flipped TOP in the second half and it was 20-0. Would have been 27-0 if we Scored on the last play.

Key against Bama will be getting our offense on the field. If we can’t keep them from long, clock eating drives it will be painful.

If we actually end up playing a game against Bama, I do not think that our defense will have a very difficult time keeping Bama from having long, time consuming drives. I have a feeling Bama will find very little resistance getting chunk plays whether by land or by air.

Maybe I’m wrong but I think we have a better chance in a shootout. I think we can score on their defense. No doubt we we are big underdogs.

Did you see the second half against Kentucky? Two Kentucky second halves and we are in the Bama game looking for a decisive turnover. I am worried about Tinnerc.

I am worried about Tinnerc also. This is their game of the year. It will be cold and windy. We need to improve and give our very best effort.

The only real reason we have a chance against Bama is Kyle Trask. A great QB solves a number of ills and gives you a chance against anyone.
Even though he's only great-ish. Whatever tf that means

To be fair, based on what I saw Saturday, inside the seven may not have been in field-goal range for them.

As I saw last night when you are down and have 4 and goal at the 4, you go for it, even when you need the field goal.
