Just to expound on my dislike for these uniform changes, it’s not about me being some type of stick in the mud old man(though I may be in other aspects of life). But one of the great things about winning, and having a mental edge over someone or something is that the mere sight of you coming immediately evokes a memory of failure and defeat at your hands. I get that our runs over teams like uga, ut, Uk and even the noles were largely because we were just better. But there’s definitely something to be said about an opponent seeing a jersey and/or helmet and thinking they have no chance, especially when the game starts to get away from them. It’s why I don’t mind incorporating some of these themes against the Vanderbilt or cupcake types, where it really doesn’t matter. But why take away any preexisting edge and give the other team a fresh start feeling, as if a team other than the UF that has owned them, is standing across the field?

There isn’t a single player on that team, outside of a few RS Srs, that has ever tasted victory over the Gators. But the few that did in ‘16 likely remember one thing—it was the only time in the last 3 decades that we wore an alternate uniform against them. For nearly every other vol team since 1990, that script, and that traditional uniform(home or away) had spelled doom. Openly said or not, it makes them tremble. And rather than playing into that and utilizing its psychological advantage, we’re electing to throw it aside. It’s maddening to me, regardless of whether or not we ultimately need it.

Have to wonder, why is Cornelius Bennett’s kid in a position where he feels he needs to sell marijuana. S...M...H....

That’s a great question.

It’s better than what I thought which was...Why would Cornelius Bennett (Alabama) let his son go to Tennessee?

I was at this game in 2008, and it was hilarious witnessing this mass exodus in person. By the 4th quarter about 80-90% of the remaining fans were UF fans.

No team looks at this and is intimidated. No team. Not even geographic teams.

OCs and the players themselves look at gamefilm and lick their lips.

Two thirds of the teams lose the game to Alabama when that Crimson wave comes out of the locker room and on the field of play. I'm proud to say the Gators don't blink, they just say let's put a hand on the ground and see who wins this athletic contest. I totally agree in the year to year continuity of the uniform., Sometimes one would think our main color is green or you think you need to go to the optometrist to check your eyes out because the shades of Blue are constantly changing. Wear the true Orange and Blue and be proud of it. The other team and fans will say Oh Sh!t here they come.

I wonder if the name on the back of his jersey will look like his tattoo

As time went on, I thought surely there would be some comment from him about how this was a dare or joke gone wrong. Instead, we got silence. That tattoo, from conception and design, to color scheme and placement, was all Tyler Bray himself. While the rest of the world looks on in hysterical laughter, he loves it. It may be the most embarrassing thing that has ever graced the internet.

If you're gonna do that, you better own it.

Let me preface this by stating the obvious, that I do not like the Grantham hire, never have, and would be very happy to see a change at DC. That said, so far this season, his defense is averaging giving up about 25 points a game, which is about 8 points more than we averaged in conference play in our best overall stretch of '93-'96(20,20,15,15 respectively). Again, can him tomorrow and pelt him with tomatoes on the way to his car. I'm good with all that. But one thing that has affected the perception of our season(and several others as I mentioned in the Mason thread) is no OOC cupcake breathers where you go out, crush someone, and feel better about everything when you're done. Not to mention your numbers being skewed to the good. If you look at seasons from a conference-play-only view, we're basically about one score worse than we've been under many of our better teams. Not defending Grantham. Just trying to provide a little optimism from the slightly better play we've seen, mostly due to Campbell's return.

I do agree however that without a Grenard/Zuniga force that can create a sack on virtually any play, our defense does not scare anyone, and probably has the reverse effect with most. I hope Mullen realizes how many scores we've had against ut the last two years that were a direct result of turnovers, mostly from Guarantano. We need to man up early in this game, force some mistakes and kill their spirits the way we did in 2018.

Which part? The firing, the tomatoes, the quick start, the we’re gonna win, the tattoo?

You have to be more specific or quote someone.
The turnover part. Plus I don't like Grantham either, just like ugay fans and MSU fans. Maybe his wife likes him.

That's been their MO so far this season though, especially at QB. I've heard that they may be starting their freshman, who is probably an upgrade in that department. But still, hopefully we can create some turnovers from either one of them, and also keep the ball out of Malik Davis' hands. In fact, I'd just leave him home.
