Maybe we have a major sports writer at the Sun who will pick the Gators to win a big game now and then.
Maybe, instead of that, the Gators will actually go win a big game now and then, regardless of who picks what.

I went over to Swamp Gas because they’re the only other place talking about this. Their speculation (if you want to call it that) is on Mike Bianchi returning to his roots.

Frankly, I don’t see that happening. If the money’s bad in general, it’s worse in Gainesville than Orlando.

BTW, L-boy is a VIP member at Swamp Gas.

We just did..............u g a y.
I’m not picking a fight, I’m just saying that we haven’t won many big games in a loooong time. None that mattered anyway.

Would be great if we could reverse that trend in Atlanta.

I don’t know, but that second person happens to hold the title of sports editor. Kind of hard to imagine a sports department without a sports editor.

(Even if it is only a pseudo title for lead sports columnist.)
You're trying to tell me they HAD an editor all these years? I find that hard to believe. Wait, Dooley was the editor? Then I find that easy to believe.

Made me think of the first time I heard it. The music reminded me of a ‘70’s porn soundtrack and I could see Ox in a plaid Leisure suit, stack heels, with a thin scarf tied around his neck, hair tightly permed and accented by his Fu Manchu. If only there was video.
My goodness, you display unimagined depths, in areas in which I never even suspected such expertise. Good show!

It would be nice to have the beat writer of the Sun talk to us, don't you think? With all the "Crucial" stuff, I think it's safe to say he never will.

No matter what you think of him, he's worlds better than Dooley/Andreu.

Hilarious! You guys amuse me. Whether its kicking the incompetent old goats on their way out the door, or crapping on the young shill with the bizarre wigger history on his way in. The jokes almost write themselves.

All kidding aside, I think Zach is a marked upgrade from Dooley and Andreu.

I may have to retract what I said. I could have sworn I saw the sports editor title associated with Dooley’s name. I may have incorrectly assumed that he held the same dual role as his predecessor, Jack Hairston, who was sports editor and lead columnist. Arnold Feliciano holds the sports editor title.

So now the correct question becomes, will they hire a lead columnist to replace Dooley?

Ah, I have spoken to him and he's always been very friendly. I'm not sure how good he is at his job, but a really great guy. What he basically told me was that they took the jobs of 5 or more people, laid them off, and gave them all to him. He's in an impossible spot.

That sounds about right. In ancient times the Sun employed a sports editor and a managing editor. The managing editor ran the department on a day to day basis. Norm Froscher held that role when I worked there. Hairston showed up at 4 o’clock each afternoon with his copy and was gone in a half-hour. We’d hear about it if Jack was upset over something (usually someone missing a typo in his column), but Norm ran the section.

They really don’t need two editor titles when one will suffice. They’re too small.

Correction: Executive sports editor, not managing editor. Same role.

Well, our members relentlessly insulting him, mocking him, and making fun of him may have turned him off. Not sure.
If he had any balls he'd be begging to get on your podcast and clear the air and defend himself. That's what tf I'd do.

I'm surprised the Donk hasn't chimed in. He's a big fan of Crucial.

Well, that video exists for all to see. Not sure what he could defend.

Way better than his old stuff.

any time someone brings up a musical artist, my go-to response is:
"I really prefer their early work...", especially if I've never heard of said artist.

really a great conversation starter...
Here's an example:

random person: "Hey 'diddy, have you heard any of that ah-mazing and articulate "music" from Cardi B?"
me: "Not lately, I really prefer her early work, like 'Cheap Ass Weave', 'Gimme Head Too' or 'Stripper Hoe'"

works every time

I am truly concerned about a young man that graduated from UF and states that being a beat writer for the Gainesville Sun is his dream job

Either Zach is related to Urban Meyer or he should undergo some cognitive testing
