The one-armed guy was Rudolph Rackley from Altha. He was a “booster” and tight with Sloan. Never knew where he got his money, but he had it, tucked up under his missing arm! There was a little cafe in Quincy called Luten’s that Joe and Sloan took a couple of players being recruited, Andrew and Horace McMillan (who wound up at UGA) for instance. It was a big deal to run up on them back in those days.Son1 played for his AAU team ‘81-‘83. I drove a couple of players down to the state championships in Orlando one summer. Rackley was the one-armed guy from Altha wasn’t he? He drove Moten all over the state for Norm Sloan.
Haven’t seen Joe since the Silver Slipper closed, I guess. Good guy.
