I am truly concerned about a young man that graduated from UF and states that being a beat writer for the Gainesville Sun is his dream job

Either Zach is related to Urban Meyer or he should undergo some cognitive testing

So...An Alumni and fanboy gets to go to the press conferences and every game for free while getting paid to do it...and you’re questioning that? I would love to be paid to go to EVERY GAME in perpetuity

I assume that his salary hovers just above the poverty level so not sure that qualifies as getting paid in my book

How long can you shout "Mixers! Chasers! Ice-Cold Coooooke!" in 120 degree heat?

Why do they need a second person? Can they even AFFORD a second person?
Yeah nothing like driving to the bank every Friday wondering if your check is going to bounce again....This(or any newspaper) would be the last place I'd ever work.

Not to mention he can probably sweep up all those leftover Andreu and Dooley groupies. Some of them might even be female.

Didn't this guy move to Atlanta and get a real job some time back?
Turns out that even though the ATL is the hip hop capital of the world, a chubby suburban white kid with a bowl cut wasn’t in high demand. Whodda thunk it?

You obviously haven't seen his contract. He has to pay just like a normal fan to go to the games, but he gets 10% off fountain drinks.

LOL, I mentioned in the Fat Tooley thread that I figured Crucial would want the gig, but then was reminded that going to the G'ville Slime from Lake City was a demotion. Guess Crucial did not see it that way. Get ready to make those mentors proud Crucial and learn how to Genuflect and play Softball with any questions you might have,

Damn you guys are cold af. You should be happy for him and wishing him success. This is a Gator, one of our own, advancing his career.

Here is how you do it:

Congratulations Crucial! It’s a tough, tough field and an even tougher market right now, but we’re rooting for your success and we’re looking forward to some outstanding coverage of our beloved Florida Gators. Good luck to you and your family in this new endeavor, we know you’ll make us proud!

I want Crucial to do well. I can say however, listening to his daily radio show while in law school, he is Dooley Junior. Pretty much called any Gators who didn't like 2017 (pre-firing of Mac) Gidiots. He didn't go as far as his partner Carbozo in saying that Vandy would be the measuring stick for the offense, but he supported the statement. There's a difference between not crossing the SID and insulting the audience. He did the latter much more than the former. But with that said, good luck to him, maybe he can surprise us. Haven't listened recently, but I'm sure he, like some SDS writers, believe Donovan Stiner is "a force against the run" and that there is no possible improvement from the defense and no change in personnel or coaches could make a difference. I heard him say as much in 2017 (boy, did 2018 prove him wrong), so unless someone can verify, I don't believe the tiger can change his stripes.

After thinking about it for 20 seconds, I can honestly say, "I don't care about anything Gainesville Sun Related!".

By virtue of that comment you are admitting i am right...........I think most of the denizens of this forum are the children of the Philly Fans that booed Santa Claus in the 70s
