Homemade biscuits with sausage gravy, several slices of chewy bacon and a glass of water.

Alternately, fried pork-chops with diced potatoes and a homemade biscuit with grape jelly and a glass of water.

I was with you on all of it until the water....

I withdraw my request to explain as I should have used google first.

Back on track, I like a biscuit halved with a fresh sausage patty and a fried egg (runny) on each half. Smother with sausage gravy and top with a little grated sharp cheddar. We call it “Redneck Eggs Benedict.” They’re pretty darn good, but I make sure not to have them within a month of my annual physical or any bloodwork.

Fried eggs, well, cheese grits, homemade biscuits with sugar cane syrup.
Gave it a like. Would really love it if the yolk was runny. Biscuits with butter and cane syrup are about as good as it gets.

We used to grow our own sugar cane. About 2-3 acres of it up on the Hill. Would cut it and stack it in the back of the truck and carry it over to a small mill between Florala and Andalusia where the guy had an old mule who would turn the wheel while walking in a circle. Damn path was about a foot deep where he had just worn down the path.

My grandmother used to make tomato gravy and homemade biscuits. I loved tomato gravy but hated tomatoes.

I’ve told this before, but my granddaddy used to take us to see a man that grew cane and made syrup each fall. He’d buy some syrup and a couple of stalks of cane for all the grandkids to chew on. He’d also buy a pint of cold cane juice and just guzzle it down. It was too sweet for me, but he told us that was about all the sweet he’d get as a boy.

BLT with a fried egg on it, light Mayo white toast. Jumbo sweet tea. Y’all hit fast eddies with that in east Gainesville when you’re in town - don’t let the building scare you.
